I know you guys both said you run RMS adjustable strut rods. well, I bought a set of QA1 adjustables which is the same design. I went with those because I was able to get a great deal on a new set.

anyway, I would like to quickly explain how I installed these, and you guys tell me if I'm good or if I need to back up and punt.

I first tightened the K member end down and went ahead and torqued it. next, I slid the lower control arm onto the pivot pin and as it went on, I guided in the end of the strut rod. with the control arm fully seated on its pivot pin I adjusted the strut rod out until the shoulder lightly seated against the control arm. at this point I tightened the strut rod nut on the back of the control arm.

so at this point the control arm is fully seated at the back of the pivot pin and the strut rod has been tightened to the control arm and the k member, but no tension has been put on the lower arm.

I now turn the adjuster on the strut rod just slightly until I feel a little tension, and I lock the jam nuts on both ends.

I done this with the car on my lift with the suspension hanging down. Is this the way it should have been done or should I have put the car back on 4 tires before adjusting?

thanks for the help guys. I love QA1's products, but the guy who wrote those half a$$ intructions they sent must have never seen a Mopar front suspension.

Should have bought the RMS....Customer service and product quality is second to none!

Yeah. What of it? They are nice but certainly not reinventing the wheel.

Maybe I am a little jaded, built my own, had bad luck buying chassis parts...
I didn't say one single thing about their design reinventing the wheel. the guy told me I should have went with RMS struts and followed it up with a comment about their high quality. they are high quality and a fine product.

what my comment was getting at was that the QA1's aint no slouch either.

Notice my comment first said "customer service"...Obviously you missed that part...QA-1 is known for **** end of the stick C.S. (yes, I know from experience)

Reilly on the otherhand, well he answers phone calls and will talk to you about it, not to mention he makes the parts for mopars specifically.

Good luck!

I could see that, I was at an expo a week ago. Talked to QA1 about some parts and the rep told me "if you have a mopar these will work"

yeah, I get what you were saying. I was just saying the QA1's are high quality as well. now on the CS I couldn't say. I have used a lot of their products and never had to call them for anything. hopefully I won't need to if their CS stinks that bad.

71gtdart, getting back to your question, sounds like your install went well. Just remember when dealing with adjustable strut rods it will affect your Caster alignment settings.making the rod longer will make the caster move negitive, shorter positive.Check for any pulling to the right or left. I don't think you will have any,by the way you installation was done. Just a thought..
