Ok so swapped both flashers back to the ones that were in original harness. One was right by fuseblock(hazards), the other one was rectangular and attached to the rh side of ashtray in a clip.
Success on both counts. All signals/hazards operate properly with other used hazards.
So I can return the one 552 Eaton, BUT I'm going to keep the Grote 44810 for a spare as its USA made.
Grote specs says led compatible, so it will ride in glovebox.
