1985. Challenger/Sapporo production ended in 1983, so I guess they did precede DSM, and were produced while Mitsu was just a corporate partner and had not formalized things (Chrysler was a 15% shareholder of Mitsu at the time) by forming DSM and building a dedicated plant.What year did Diamond-Star officially start?
I thought it wasn't until the 90's, or late 80's.
I know they had sales and marketing agreements/rebadging before that.
My mother drove one of these when I was a kid. Learned the finer points of a manual transmission in that car. They are actually good looking little cars.
