Bingo! Yeah it's a wooden bearing, well half of one. I never knew they even existed lol. I believe used on pump/turbine shafts that are submerged in the river. Can't remember what type of wood. Maintenance Mgr told me like $10k for 2 3' pieces.
Section of wooden pipe?

Not sure how long it is but appears to be a section of a barrel.

Is that a section of a journal bearing?

Hmm .. Cypress survives well in wet environments

Just a quiet evening here wrapping Christmas presents, putting together a gift basket for a friend and his family, and decorating the Christmas tree.

One of these sat in my Grandfathers basement. All my aunts would gather there a couple weeks before Easter or Christmas to make cookies. This was an all day affair for the girls, as they made hundreds of cookies. We were only allowed to sit on the stairs, if we wanted to watch the assembly line of cookies being made. Hard to believe they had this little stove to make all those cookies. Good Lord, I miss those ladies.

^^^^^^^^^ guy want $1300
Outrageous, but I can't say I'm surprised. A few years ago I tried to find the very first bike I ever bought new, from a store, in about '71/'72-ish. I remember I paid $40 for it new, and had to assemble it myself, as I couldn't afford the extra $5, or whatever it was....

Anyway, same bike now, if you can find one: $500.

It's just crazy.

If you think that's crazy, try to buy a '70 Hemi cuda convertible for $4500.

^^^^^ Just bought a '70, 440 Dart from a guy in Ohio who has one, or maybe a '71. I don't remember my head was spinning. He also has a T/A and a Hemi Challenger.. The guy won Pinks in 2006 with a Barracuda, think it was a '68. Hell of a guy.
