Remote oil filter

-
In Australia all our A body V8s used a remote oil filter set up from the factory as an oil filter in the stock location would be were our steering box is located. A plate is used at the oil filter location with pipes taking it to a reote filter at the back of the motor next to the distributor. This is a very messy system so on my cars I have always used braided lines going forward to the right hand side inner guard! Someone in Australia also makes a nice billet alloy plate with fittings and that is what I use as the cast iron plate is subject to cracking if you overtighten it! sorry but I do not have any images of it.
Thanks for the reply. Didn't that location create a dry start issue, since it's above the original filter location?

No there is drain back valve somewere in there and my car can sit for weeks and within two seconds of starting has great oil pressure!

On my 74 w200 I used a Canton Block plate:

Then the Clear View Filtration oil filter block adapter. I like this one because it uses -12AN ORB fittings, which are large and ORB fittings usually never leak.

Clear View Filtration 210-B Clear View Filtration Oil Filter Block Adapters | Summit Racing

Then I went physco and used a giant diesel engine oil filter remote mount. I like these because they also use -12AN ORB fittings, have 2 ORB magnets, and use a giant filter.

I use Aeroquip -12 AN pushlok fittings and hose.

I did this because in the stock location when you remove the filter it drips oil all over the headers and onto the driveline right into the U-joints and slings that oil everywhere.

Dammit I just thought of something. Maybe I could wedge a piece of cardboard up in there to deflect the oil when I change it. Still a PITA.
