Replacement 68 340 four speed cams

And for those of you following the story along.....here's the last part of it I left out.

Auto shop class was off school campus in downtown Macon. So we had permission to drive if we had cars. So me and Kirk always took the Charger. Anyway, the Monday following the Saturday we had had the car so fast, we were turning into the auto shop parkin lot and the left front tire blew out. Now, this was one of the original Goodyear Polyglass GTs, not a recap. It had thread showing through. So we were bein watched over for sure the Saturday before.

Typical sized cars heres the formula ( yours would be worse)
Top speed (mph) 20 times cube root of horsepower
Example 400hp cube root is 7.36; times 20 is 147 mph
the hp climbs exponentially much high the faster you go aka drag limted
So your magic 340 was making what 550 600 hp @ 6900 with stock valvetrain gotcha
rusty would need about 700hp no problem with his magic low comp 340 at 4000 lbs
Seeing it's cold outside how much H.P. to get a 4000 pound car N/A 219 c.i. V6 to 151?

Theoretically 4 x the power it takes to cruise at half that speed unless you’re driving it off a cliff or don’t believe in physics.

don't know the cod could you find out? frontal aera too big. Rolling res. very little. tires 245/17 gear i think it's a 308 trans .7 ps tires weight 70 lbs each.

the interwebs lists the impala as 0.33 (Cd) and 25.9 (frontal)

weight of the tires is inconsequential. total weight of the vehicle is what matters and was implied.

Well I'll give in. 12 Impala, little 240ci, n/a, tires do weight 70 lbs ea. Power windows, power brakes, power locks, power drivers seat, power trunk, ac, cooling ducts for frt. brakes (did I give it away?) 100% factory stock with cat conv., almost 200k, runs 14's, turns 6700, and extremely limited to 151. H.P. must be at least 650 according to the sq. root to the square root. but Chevy must have got it wrong at only 300. But 300 from a 87 octane 240ci with 280 lbs. of rolling stock? HOW? WHY? O and it does circles in city streets and much more. WHY? O yes old ppv cruiser.

This thread is hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. I’ll say one thing, I was part of a team that earned two FIA world records at bonneville in two days. We went 164.669mph officially and 171.642 mph peak. I know what it takes to get there. No charger, dart, barracuda or any other old hooptie with a stock 340 is getting there. I dont care what the speedo said, who saw it, and/or how many people saw it, I ain’t believing it. I’ve personally been clocked at 211mph on two wheels at El Mirage and my Speedo said 231. Just sayin.
