Hi folks,
more from the Duster:
front suspension is overhault, K-Member was built in and completed,

Much more:
rear axle was completed and goes into the car, so
the Duster now is standing on his "shoes".
Outsind and inside it´s prepared for the painting job.
The heating box didn´t work well - because : see pic !
So also the box is cleaned and repainted, a new heater core( the old one leaks ) will come in some days.
This while I cleaned the engine block inside and out, give a new color to it, built in new gaskets and put it all together. The new intake is an edelbrock performer and after porting the exhaust canals of the heads I hope, by using an electronic ignition the motor will be a little bit faster hen before.
So, now I have to wait till I get the car back from painting job.

I do have a question for you though. It looks like the front brake caliper is mounted upside down? The hoses should attach at the bottom of the caliper with the bleeder valve at the top. Is this the earlier disc brake set up or the later style?

I mean thats the early disc brake version , because it has only one piston.
As I wrote , the owner before me built into the car what he had, so not all parts may be original.

this a 1956- Ford F100, with an 351 engine, FMX transmission, 9" rear axle,
Mustang II-front end with disc brakes and power steering, electronic HEI ignition, wheels are 255 around ...runs good ! :burnout:
For the right music while cruising there´s a 600 W music system with MP3 in the car... but I more listen to the sound of the V8 !!!
The truck was completely overhault from 2010 to 2011 by myself - only the paintjob was made by a company.

While waiting for the car back from the paint job, I had complete the engine yesterday. May be I will put on the 600 holley ( or the 600 Edelbrock which came with the car ?) - at the Mustang I had a holley and never problems with it.
Next will be the transmission, I will change the front and rear gaskets ...and clean the body... I think much more isn´t to do.

I am a holley guy and I have used many of that model 600 holley that you have. Great carbs and are easy to tune once you figure them out. disgust It may be worth putting a gasket kit in it if it has sat for a while. Check what power valve, primary jets and secondary spring is in it.

Thanks " holley guy" .... but this carb got new gaskets + power valve before I put it in a box in my garage so it´s ready for race ! I feel as you do, why check another product, when the other one had the best results in the last cars ?
May be, the 600 is a little bit to big for that SB but sh... happ...,
here in Germany 1 gal gas costs today "only" $ 7.76 ....

The A904-1 Transmission is also now overhault.
The oil inside looks good, no metal parts inside ( ok, the trans shifts good as we bought the car ) so why should I put it in parts now ?
I cleaned it outside, give a new color to the case, changed the gasket from the output shaft and on the side to the engine and also the o-ring from the oilstik case.
Next week I will buy a new oilfilter and gasket for the oil pan, so then it´s ready for the next ride .

the transmission has now new gaskets and oilfilter and I put an drain plug into the oil pan, the oil pan get´s new color and so it´s ready to put all together.

Those floor pans looked REALLy messed up...
The paintjob turned out perfect!
And I understand you on the fuel consuption...here in Brazil a gallon costs around $21!

The car is back home and I started with the work to put into it the wipers, heaterbox, master brake cylinder and the wirering.
Drivers door is out, because I hate if it get´s scratches !
Have a look at the actually pics.

On every place wires inside,but ...
ign works, wipers work, speedometer was put inside... it´s also something more to do, but I can see the end of that work.
Also I have to change the flasher switch, because one part of it is broken.
Next will be the tail side of the car with all the lights.

News from the last days of the year 2012:
Brake lines were new installed. It was easy with my new tool to bring the new lines in the right form.
New turn signal switch is installed and all functions are well.
The heater was connected to electricity, motor + airflow switches work.
New radio with mp3 is prepaired for the install, with new wires and connectors, also new loudspeakers for the rear section.
Vent windows are overhault. Under the old rubber I found some rust, so they get new antrust color and thannew rubber parts. With these windows
built in the car looks already a little bit more complete.
Drivers door was mounted, before that I lay down the carpet into the car.
After that we turn the car, so that I cando the work on the passenger side. That was the point, we can make the first roll out into the daylight !
I mean that looks good, do you think it also ?

Some more from the last week:
Passenger door were completed with weather stripping, door handle + key and all the parts inside, it close like a new one.
Transmission was also built in by using a jack for that haevy load, and completed with a new neutral safety switch....
what a bad work while lying under the car! :angry5:
