running Hughes rockers, solid roller, PAC springs

I threw in the old smith brother pushrod and at zero lash the adjuster has about 3 1/2-4 threads showing. I know they say around 1.5 threads is optimal but what do y'all think?

Are a new set of pushrods in my future?

Yep. If the rockers have Chrysler oiling the actual measurement is 9/32. The measurement can be slightly less than 9/32, or longer by as much as .050 maximum.

So .287 minus a little or .287 up to .337 per the Chrysler engine book, page 217.

That measurement I'm assuming is from the ball on the adjuster to the rocker body..

Yes. Where is the oil feed hole in the rocker for the cup and adjuster? If it's right under the rocker that's Chrysler oiling. If it's down the body it has Crane oiling...but I haven't seen many of that oil timing lately.

Oil hole in the top of the rocker down from the adjuster, and inside the rocker out to the adjuster

I'm not sure if this is a brand new build and hasn't ran before or you just switched the Rockers and are asking if you need new pushrods for them? For me I was running 273 rockers and then switch to the Hughes rockers and there wasn't much difference even with the 1.6 to one's. My adjusters are all the way in, I mean just barely out enough to keep the top of the pushrod cup from hitting the rocker itself. I would think the more out they are out the more room for failure? My 2...

Correct. And if they are far enough down, they won't oil. The oil will blow past the cup.

Well... I'll say it's new, I took motor apart to fix rear main seal, pulled the seal cap and no side seals were in it, checked bearings, they were bad, pulled motor apart and had .0055 main clearance and .001 on the rods, pistons were .002 tighter than reccomended. pin end of the rods were tight and big end was out of round. Well never use that shop ever again for anything. Took it to another shop and had all machine work fixed.

Putting it back together I switched from a solid ft to a solid roller, new rockers.

Ok, well then yes. Likely you'll have to make that call to Smith Brothers. About $130 for a custom set? Anyone can tell ya I'm not big on (syber) spending other people's money,
but all the time and money you've spent to get things right and not doing this right (the easy part on the top)" don't make no sense" ?

Yea for sure, I think shipped to the door the last set was 200.
So not too bad!

Got it all together and painted, got my adjustable pushrod in there, looking much better
I'll take it to work and get a good measurement tomorrow

Also pulled lashcap and re checked swipe pattern, it's centered and now not as much of an angle from pushrods to rocker
