Flying, cruising, fishing, boating, scuba diving, working on home improvement projects. Still working part time, but I love doing a lot of things. Looking to do more world traveling when the Kung flu hysteria clears out.
My wife and I were at the Coliseum in Rome with a tour group. I wandered off to take some photos when we had 30 minutes to do anything. I was busy in another part of the place getting some really good shots when I heard my name being announced over the public address system. I was 15 minutes late in getting back to the tour bus. I had plenty of angry looks at me when I took my seat but I was happy since now I have had my name announced in the same place as ancient gladiators had their name announced!!!

I pull fish out of cool, murky water, and keep them warm in the oven.

Before covid, spent a lot of time doing church based activities.

First off, a shout out to the OP for an awesome post. This is a great way for all of us to get better acquainted with members who we will probably never meet in the real world.
When I'm not wrenching on cars, or getting beat up by my two little boys, I can be found with a 6 string in hand. I'm just finishing up my guitar room this week.
I'm always adding to my collection of vinyl records, sitting at 170 right now.
I also make tables for my friends and family, when someone needs one.
And lately I've been drinking some of the rare Irish Whiskey that I have collected over the past 15 years. But those are pics for another post..

I do like birdwatching. Daddy was an avid birdwatcher growing up. I probably know more about birds than any car guy ought to. I also have Daddy's own blueprint for an awesome home made bird feeder embedded in my brain. I make a new one about every ten years or so....whenever they finally rot.

I have two, the first is audio and music. I'm at about 3000 or so albums, 2000 CD's, and about 20,000 albums on digital. The shop system is two pair of large Advents, a pair of Dahlquist subwoofers, a Denon main amp, Kenwood tuner, Hafler subwoofer amp, and a Dahlquist active crossover.

Here's the house setup, some small B&W's for casual listening. The big box on the right is an 18" JBL pro woofer in about an 8 cu.ft. box. The main system is a Harmon Kardon receiver and CD player, Technics turntable, and a Dynaco amp for the sub.

The main speakers are a pair of Dahlquist DQ-10's, stacked on top of each other and driven by a Denon amp.

The other love is cooking. I grew up in a restaurant, doing my first shift in Dad's cafe at the ripe old age of 14 or so. Dad rousts me out of bed at about 0500 one Sunday morning and says get up and get ready, the breakfast cook is in jail for drunk and disorderly so you're next in line. I have a "problem" with commercial kitchen equipment. I'd have a full pro kitchen if I were to do it all over again. As is, I have this beast of a stove, four 25K burners with a 24" flattop on the left. The oven will take a 25+ pound turkey easy.

The newest toy is a commercial griddle for outdoor cooking. It weighs more than I do by a healthy margin.

Jealous of your stove. I'm definitely going to have a bigger kitchen in next house for commercial equipment.

It's a beauty, made by DCS. I got it from a guy who had it in a catering truck. It was already converted to propane which was a plus. However it was FILTHY. I disassembled every single piece to the last nut and bolt so my blushing bride could clean it all up. Then it got reassembled. I couldn't move it with the griddle in place, it was just too heavy. It took four grown men to get the griddle up and in place. But it's a dream to cook on!

Model kits, slot car racing, kitbashing oddball one off slot cars, handgun target shooting. I confess I have not done much of any of these other hobbies as the 1-1 scale Plymouth Barracuda rebuilding seem to keep me busy lately.

All of them at one time or another.
1) Pre buy at reputable shop, preferably that the owner does not know. Look closely at the logs, Do the inspections look thorough or pencil whipped? 5397K was the latter
2) Good radios/avionics. Upgrades are $$$$
3) Watch out for corrosion, especially amphibs and planes near the coast
4) Fly the plane before purchase, at least an hour. That will tell you a lot about the airframe.
3682S was really bad and took a lot of work to make right.

I work on commercial airliners doing sheetmetal for a living 5 days a week. Kudos to any of you who like tinker with them as a hobby. I avoid aircraft like the plague on my days off lol. For some reason though, i find automotive sheetmetal repair work relaxing. It's very crude compared to aircraft but yet oddly satisfying at the same time. LoL.

Now I know where you get all your green primer! I work for a company that made some Boeing body panels and we used that same green primer.

When I'm at work and I sandblast parts on lunch or break, if they have any primer mixed up that's at the end of its potlife, I use it up. This way it doesnt add to the waste chemicals the company has to dispose of. You can buy it fairly cheap at Graco Aerospace too. I also have done that in the past.

Painted this for my son last winter and spring. Picture was taken just before the rear tire covers were installed and first flight after all the upgrades.
I am thinking this could be a fun hobby, learning to fly...

Played w the slot cars a little today, and built a "photo real" grandstand kit. I have a timing tower kit, and hot dog stand kit to build next. Got some trees and shrubbery from hobby lobby.

I love slot cars! I need to dig mine out!

I might as well fess up. I don't have a drinking problem, I have a collecting problem. I'm up to around 230 bottles. When I'm thirsty, it's damn hard to choose!

This table folds up into the wall for storage so I can pull a car into the garage. It takes longer for the lap timer computer, an old Dell desktop with track mate freeware running on windows 95 to boot up and run than to set up the track.
