Yes my 66 is spot welded, had a brain fart and thought glued.

I noticed one end of Vixen's serial number tag has come unstuck from the door jamb. What's a good adhesive to use that will hold it back in place? Would something like liquid nails work for that?

Awesome stuff just allow to Fully cure !!!!

My 63 has some kind of adhesive holding the VIN plate to the door jamb and I am sure it is original as I am the second owner and the first was my grandfather who purchased the car new in 1963. I have owned the car since 1983.

It is spot welded. See post 18.

If there is adhesive on or around it most likely it's from the door seal

You could cut a piece of 1x stock to wedge against the jamb on the other side to clamp it while it dries.

That might save you from needing to call a priest if you use rivets.

My understanding is they are factory spot welded also. I would put one small screw in there to be SURE!!

If you have any buddies that work in a body shop, see if they will slip you some panel bond adhesive. If you use that stuff, make sure you got it where you want it....cause it ain't ever comin back off!

That yellow 3M stuff held the steel emblems to the body of my Satellite pretty darn good.

I believe they also make it in black.
