Thanks for the great comments on my kits, it inspires me to get back into it :glasses7:

Here's a couple pics. I don't think I posted them before.
Pair of 300's and a small version of our 2000 R/T.

Still working on the Turbine car as we speak...never thought it would be this hard or take this long...but it's fun anyway.

It will be a surprise, my best friend told me he's giving me a kit for Christmas and he told me it will be much easier to build.

David,I missed it but were on earth did you find a turbine car kit? Those must be hard to get.

Recently assembled Mach 5 from polar lights. I thought I was done until I watched a few episodes of speed racer. I realized the the steering wheel rim is supposed to be red, not black! I have to fix that! And they say mopar purists can be nitpicky...

Hi Paul, you see quite a few on ebay, I snagged mine for $34. Jo-Han reissued them a few times up through the '80's. The quality is not quite as good as the first run but still nice. They are a challenge to build though. If I get the engine/suspension assembly lined up and seated on the 4 mounting pins on the frame rail,so the car sits right, it will be a miracle!

Ok. I'll post a couple more to keep this going. A couple of my race teams.

Wow you guys, I've never seen work so realistic or so imaginative. I'm blown away.

"Distressed" Novas....now THAT"S a diorama.

+++++

Question: what's the best way to 'wash' the finished car? From all the handling it needs to be shined up.

The Turbine is finally completely assembled. Well except for the wheel that fell off lol. Just needs a few paint touch-ups.

Thanks for that info David. Sounds like an expensive kit to get here. Would be better than $50 by the time it got to my house. Not justifiable on our budget. Oh well! I do have a couple kits here I can biuld.A Plymouth Sattelite,a biplane and maybe one or two other's so I am content with that.

Right now me and my son Nic are building a Hemi Cuda kit. He is doing all the painting, and because it's messy Im glueing it for him. It's sort of a junkyard dog Cuda, but a simple one he did.

Very nice diorama btw!

Try a microfiber cloth and some car wax. Dab the wax on with your finger tip.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Cool builds there bad440!

too late now but look at real car vents in fender chrome and black
do the same effect with thinned black paint and paper towel
paint and wipe lightly. Do the grill and other things that need a black wash
have done the redline on dog dish caps the same way.
Did the letters on my Torino caps but used black spray paint and lacquer thinner on rag came out great(real car)

I haven't built a model in 7 years i guess i will dig one out got the bug again

Nice job on the Turbine kit I built it many years ago
