Can anyone recommend a quality restorer of the Sharktooth Grille? Bought one recently that has a few condition issues and would like to get it restored. A few clips busted, some slats broken, a crack or two, faded and oversprayed...

i do not do it for a living, but i have restored quite a few of them.
it is a lonnggg tedious process to repaint all the fins black, and the rest the origional argent silver.

if you want, send me a pm for my email address, and send me some pics. do you have the broken tabs? do you have the broken slats?

Joe (340plot) would be a good person to have restore it.

i would do the entire piece over, including replacing any missing tab for 350.00 while there is only 80 bucks in material, i think the last resto took well into 20 some hours.
what would kill it is the shipping to and from, as with insurance would be at around 75 each way,
i do not know what the other places cost to restore, but i would think about double

Alright. I've already got that + in the purchase. Gonna see what my very nice stock Valiant grille will fetch and then will be in contact with you. Even if I put the grille farther down the priority list, and unless I find someone closer to Kansas (for shipping savings of course), I will keep you in mind. Thanks for the help. Sounds like you do a great job.

I don't have any of the missing pieces. I have included pictures of the various issues it has. A few cracks, a pinhole drilled through the front, and the broken fins and tabs.
Please check the pics and let me know what you think.
Thanks,

i see the cops in your driveway lol

see, in order to fix your for the missing pieces, i have to use one of my old parts on for the missing fins, and also for the missing tabs. it is alot of work, but they do turn out great.

due to distance, there are a few other members on here that have done their own, i cannot say if they would want to do someone elses, as it is a headache. but free bump for you, that maybe one of them will see this, and chime in.

to all the comments from other members on here that i ahve dealt with. i just want to thank you for my namke crossing you mind !

here is one that had significant damage..........

no problem! hey, if you have alot of patience, ill do a write-up, and you could try yourself. if you mess up, just let it drie, resand it, and do it again! itll save you some loot!

I've looked at some of your other sales going on and can see you are swamped. I'm that kinda guy as far as trying to be a Do-It-Yourselfer, so I would value that if you can find the time. My boy doesn't get his learners for 13 years so I have nothing but time to attempt and re-attempt. As far as the broken pieces, no idea on that one, unless I cannibalize my original Valiant Grille, but not keen on that one. Many Thanks again.
