my magnum eq heads have comp studs and guides and when the rocker is in the correct geometry to measure for my pushrods I don't have many threads on the stud to use should I shim the studs has anyone had this issue????

Well I have taken them off and put the oem on it I started this thread cause the only way I could see to correct the geometry would be if the stud was raised higher cause the geometry would be correct if stud were longer. In other words I was asking if anyone had done this before with success???

If you had to raise them that high, something is out of whack. Could be the brand of rockers. That said, the stock rockers are pretty darn good.

yeah your right and with a 512 lift cam i'm wasting time cause it has been 5 yrs building this with a disability ssi income so I'm starting to feel my foot tapping telling me hurry up before your to old to enjoy it. lol

No problem! I've heard both bad and good about PIE. No telling what they sent you, but I would assume a SBC rocker.

Mike @ B3 helped me with my EQ heads . I ended up buying some flat shim stock and making my own shims . Worked great !
Call or email B3

Only parts I've heard good was his tuning fi systems. But if I wasn't in Tx. and him in Del. this wouldn't have turned out this way. And I bought the parts through him cause he was doin my heads. In his defenseI can't find anything wrong with them but I haven't used them either.

It took me 5yrs of saving ssi check to build this motor now because the bulk of the parts are not useable If I would have bought locally I could have returned now I have a flowed set of revalved heads on a stock lower and an intake that I will have to build brackets to have ac and stock valve train after buying hi$ valve covers to run it. So I basically ruined a stock 5.9 that I could have just put in 5yrs ago and drove it so yeah I'm p$@##!% off at myself for being so stupid to let the internet take my money and 5 yrs of my life.

Irony of it all is I have an rv that was givin to me cause it was stuck in there yard that brought home and stripped the camper off and someone had the motor rebuilt and it's an la 360 that will outrun all mu other dodges after I put a hei ign and a holley on it so the best thing I got was free ! And they say god doesn't have a sense of humor. Lol

What's the installed stem height on the valves? Are these +.100 5.025 valves?
If you don't know that, what about the installed spring height?

No I have valve covers that I can take off the tops and work on it I just was saying that the valve stem height is correct with oem specs
I allready tried in another thread to help, waste of time
I appreciate your time and I want to use these but I am installing the motor now a n d can do it after it is in the truck

Thats what I wanted to hear I'm gonna use my old guides as templates to make some do you have pics
So, you're going to arbitrarily just decide how thick the shims need to be? That's not very smart. Call Mike at B3 Racing Engines. He will tell you exactly how to find the correct thickness that you need.

That was the best link hook up I have ever gotten after reading the tech articles I called him and we were finishing each others sentences lol . After years of research I got more info in the 15 min call THANK YOU!!!
Good. We're trying to help. You need to turn your brain off and listen.
