Short people

I'm 6'3". My ex was 5'4". Years ago I made the mistake one day of telling her the top of the refrigerator was dusty.
Her response: "If it bothers you, clean it"
 
Ya it sucks. I am 5'5" and have to get very creative some times. Though when you have to cram your self in to a tight place like under the dash it sure comes in handy.

Thing that rely sucks is my brother is 6'1".
 
As a 5' 5" mechanic I find myself doing some body surfing on fenders. I've got pretty good form. Almost ready for the olympics. If not I break the rules and misuse a milk crate. And please don't get me started with the women in heels. GRRR!!!
 
high heels ,slips and harnesses , yep I remember the day we made our son in the back of the 65 barracuda ,the backseat folds down all the way thru the trunk , so you were the 1 that stold her high heels gr8 mopar tools
 
OMG....I can't stop laughing to reply to each person! I've tried the milk crate but it slips out from under me; I'll try to use longer tools, however, not sure how well the heels would work; swing...hmmmmm...I'll run that by my husband, not sure what the neighbors would think

BTW, 1966 Plymouth Valiant Signet convertible with a 225 /6 ... Soon to be beefed up with a 318 v8 and 727 transmission.
 
let the air out of the tires...or better yet take the tires off and lower the car. I'm 6' tall and sometimes I jack the car up so that I'm not leaning over so much.
 
at 6'4" I will get the up high stuff if you get the down low... Deal?

If your car is on its wheels this is no problem. Just tie e piece of rope to a suitably long piece of lumber. Tie both ends so the rope makes a sling. Put the lumber behind the wheels and the ropesling around the milk crate. Works as an anti slip device.
 
Pulling the transmission, so car needs to be jacked up as high as I can get it . . .

Go to lowes or home depo and buy a 2 step ladder, they have ones with a really wide steps that is like a platform, 15" x 12" with the ladder opened all the way up the up it will not slide around or kick out from under you.
I bought one for my wife several years ago because our house has 10' ceilings in it and there is no way to reach the top shelfs in her walk in pantry.
I borrow it all the time when working on my truck.

Why is it we are NEVER satisfied? Wish I was a super hero and could transform to whatever I wanted ...LOL! I'm a geek, sorry!

Thanks! That's the one I have. I've moved it every which away and it's just so awkward. And difficult to get leverage.

I need to invent the perfect step for working around the car. Hmmmm...gonna put my thinking cap on. :thinker:

I think Rani and others are right about the hood coming off. I WAS working at the firewall area and that is definitely restrictive.

I have a milk crate at work with radiator hose sliced and attached to the bottom. Keeps it from slipping. Cheap fix. Know the feeling of a crate slipping it hurts when you body slam a car.

Don't ever buy a 4x4 diesel, my on Chebby is one of the most frustrating s.o.b.'s to work on. Motor is somewhat deepset in the frame, and a stretch form the fenders or the front. Couple it with the off road style bumper I have and my vocabulary is ever expanded....
 
I have used concrete blocks to stand on, they don't slip but are a pain to move around.
 
I'm 6' 185lbs, got no problems. Not too tall... not too short.:happy7:
