Headers are closer to a normal filter than I would like.
I don't want an oil filter adapter or a remote filter setup
Some of you are maybe running a short filter ?

The OE replacement Mopar oil filter is only 4" tall, so, how tall is your "normal" filter?

Also, Summit lists the specs for most of their oil filters...

DODGE 5.9L/360 Mopar small block Magnum Oil Filters Oiling Systems Engines & Components - Free Shipping on Orders Over $109 at Summit Racing
I was looking at the Summit link you provided and noticed 6 of the 24 filters listed have no "Filter Bypass Relief Valves". Does this mean they are all 100% no bypass, and always filter all the oil all the time?

I always thought Jomar had the only filter that did that....

Looks like you just used the Summit website to sort by “no relief valve”.

First there’s only 5, because one of those is a multi-pack option for the same filter. The professional products filter claims “no unfiltered oil reaches the engine”. The Motorcraft filter says it doesn’t have a bypass in the specs, but says it does in the description. The other two manufacturers say nothing at all about a bypass other than the spec sheet used to sort the website results, the description mentions nothing about it.

So honestly I wouldn’t assume anything just based on that, the Professional Products one is the only one that claims anything different, and it’s not available anyway.

We sell tons of these to ford and chrysler guys with space limitations. It's a little over 3 inches tall. Chrysler and Ford SB Compatible Oil Filter - Space Saver Size

Years ago, a buddy was showing me his 1986 GHLS that he bought new. It only had 5000 miles on it. I noticed that it had the tiniest oil filter I had ever seen on a Mopar. It was the same small 4 cylinder diameter, but because of the intercooler I think-the filter was only like 2 inches long. Not much of a filter, but they used what they had to. I think he said they called it the pancake filter.

Let's see some pictures of how close the headers are to the filter. I've run both the long and short filters on LA and Magnum engines without a 90* adapter and they weren't close enough for me to worry.

That ^^^^^ is the case size I was going to recommend. There's a lawnmower filter that's that same case size with the Ford/Mopar o-ring and thread size, but I cannot remember the number, but that's basically it ^^^^^ I'd just get it from @Johnny Mac because you know it's gonna be a good filter.

There's enough room for a full size filter, but I wanted to reduce the distance of the filter from the header, to reduce heat transfer.

I was right. The GLHS used a SHORT filter. I guess Shelby originally used the Fram PH3512, which is 2.665 long and a replacement is the Wix, which is 2.483 long. So-anyone needing a real short filter here you go Wix 51335.

That's the same as the Mopar 4105409 filter.
