DDemon,
You're close! That is a Mopar W5 (small port) intake.
ProComp heads w/2.05,1.55 , solid cam is 255/260 @.050, .638/.656 lift w/1.6 rockers, EDM lifters, Pistons give me 12.34:1 CR w/.040 quench. Dougs headers. (kickin myself for not holding out for the TTI's) Carb is a ProForm w/ProComp throttle plate and metering blocks. Flows 1011 cfm.
Short block is a '74 E58 360, prepped 340 rods, very prepped CFL (?) OE crank, HV pump and Milidon pan.
Didn't want to go too wild, it's a street car. Yes, I know, my avatar shows it on a trailer... Sac raceway is too far to drive...
Where do you plan on running it when Sac raceway closes?
I was about to ask the same question!Hey Ott mind sharing the awesome blue color of your ride!!
I don't know... Kingdon (in Lodi) has been huge in the area but, it's no prep, no clocks, and to me, no fun. Every knuckle dragger, who thinks his middle name is John Force, show up there. I heard they were turning cars away during their last event.
There's Eagle Field, a small WWII training base, south of south Dos Palos, that is south of me They use clocks on special events but, it's no prep and 1/8 mile. It's 90% dirt in the pit area,
they do their best with dust control. I haven't got myself to do it..
Sears point, or whatever they're calling themselves these days is all there is left for legitimate tracks but that is a 2 1/2 hour tow for me, unfortunately. Bakersfield is 3 1/2 hrs.
What about you ??
Man, that's a good question. The next logical for me is Sears Point, but that drive sucks *** w/ traffic. We really need more options...
For sure. Sears is a nice track, as long as you don't mind getting hit with an occasional 10mph head-wind at half track to blow your dial..
Redding is closed too, isn't it?
Last outing at Sac, I caught some buzz about some last minute deal being made to save the track..
but I don't know how much stock to put in that. With all the ranchettes going in all around it, the writing is on the wall.. All it takes is a hand full of cry-babies to stink up the whole affair. ...wish they'd stick to hugging trees.
Are you going to the Mopar deal on Sept 8th ?
Last years weather spoiled it for me last time.. 105* is not my idea of a good time. That's too hot for boat drags!
Looking clean 4spdragtop
There's a solid 10.20 pass under all that dirt Thanks all
Hey buddy, it's a 408. Big Solid roller cam. Forged internals, 12.4:1, heads are a set of mopar super commandos with pretty heavy porting, victor intake, all port matched. 1050, 4150 base carb. Made 608 hp on the engine dyno. Now I need more tire I ran some 10.40 passed on the footbrake to date. Havent even jetted the carb yet. Been taking my time and making some safety updates to the car. I have owned it since I was 16, and the years of bad wiring and little things "just to get it down the track" started to add up. It has an HDK also. So that helped stable it out quite a bit too.Whats the engine build johnny??
That looks sweet!
How were the Pro Maxx heads as delivered? Did you install them right out of the box? How was quality?
I did install right out of the box. Smooth ports. Only bad thing I can say is no sort of instructions came with and the manifold and rocker rail threads strip out easy. Also had to get a smaller sparkplug hex size. The 11/16" socket won't fit had to go to 5/8" hex head. How were the Pro Maxx heads as delivered? Did you install them right out of the box?
