Our 69 Valiant. Found it in Belgium last week.
57000 km on the odometer ( 35000 miles ) has been standing in a garage for 30 years.
Best regards from the Netherlands
Oh, thats the rare woodie option. It has a matching package tray also. Theyre cut and fit really nice so theyll make a good backing for some type of covering later.
Yep its a 63. No idea if it was a granny who owned it previouly. The guys I grew up with and hang out with are the "if its not 2 doors or has a V8 its junk" kinda guys. So everything else is a granny car. I like buyin stuff like this though. You dont see a car like this around here everyday and with kids its a heck of alot easier to get in and out
That was a car that I never should have sold. Basicly a one owner.School teacher bought it new and drove it to work for 38 years.Never wrecked. Not one thing missing.Up and down both sides were a million door dings from all the years in the school parking lot.Came from So.Cal.That was the only old car I've owned that was completely rust free. When we pulled the front and rear window mouldings the clips were still painted blue like the day it left the factory. Now lives somewhere around Boston Mass.
Here's one of my A Bodies... She's 1964 Valiant V100. Slant Six, 3 on the tree. I bought her from California. I then flew out there and drove her back to North Carolina.
I did the minimums to get her roadworthy and got the car running and driving decent for having sat 5 years...
I drove over 5,000 miles without too much of any incident...my clutch decided it didnt want to disengage from the transmission about halfway home. I went over the Rockies in 3rd gear...boy I was chugging along at about 10mph when I finally went over the top! (I later discovered that half the springs in my clutch disc had parted ways with the clutch and would hangup in the pressure plate at the most inopportune times!)
Driving into trees:
Pacific Ocean along Highway 1 in California:
Grand Canyon:
After I got home I swapped out the tired Slant six with one I had built previously using a Super Six setup. I also swapped the old transmission with a low mileage unit out of a '66 Valiant. Got rid of the ball and trunnion shaft in the process.
Man, I'm outta touch, been busy. Tons of cool slants!!!!!!!!!!!
Here is mine: View attachment IMG00217-20101005-1835 (Medium).jpg
17" wheels, 4 speed, front and rear sway bars, and .....finally a turbo :evil2:
I wont show the back as it still needs to be fixed from a slight issue of a honda drivers lack of attention span
check out the link in my sig for the breakdown
Here are some pics of our '64 turbocharged Valiant 4-door. We still have a few things to do before it's operational. But, it was ince to finally get it painted! It was real rat, when we got it, 2 years ago.
225 forged crank motor, bored .065" with a 67mm turbo and a 3,000-stall 904; 8.75" rear end.
