Show your slant 6 a body!

My /6 3-spd demon, it runs like a top, carb is off in pics but is now rebuilt and back on. I don't dare drive it yet because of other issues:-\"

My 67 GT Dart. Saved my pennies and bought it as my first car in high school, 21 now and she's kept running and kept me poor enough to where I can't afford another car (I think she's a bit on the jealous side). Anyway, ran the VIN for ***** and giggles and I guess the car is an original GT with a /6 and three speed floor shift with a consul. So she's all original.

Lost the passenger side rocker panel, don't know where I can pick one up in my budget (read: cheap)

Put a new /6 in her about a year and a half ago after the original gave out, still not sure why the build took so long, My buddy and me were in his garage "working" on it almost every night.

Here's me and the same buddy parked next to each other at our old work, our cars get driven.

She may not be as nice as most of the cars on here, but I refuse to sell her, no matter how many times she leaves me sitting on the side of the road. My big issue right now is the front suspension is loose and falling apart, I still have to drive her cause she's my only car, but I wanna replace all that stuff and maybe get front discs out of the whole deal while I'm at it. If anyone has any advice or knows of where I can pick up a new front end, message me, this project is LONG overdue.

just picked this up. slanty was supposed to be blown up. 3 pushrods and all the other standard stuff for a car thats been off the road for a long *** time. got it up and running and the wife claimed it.

Great pictures!
Here's mine, a '62 all original 170. The car now has 13k miles and I look forward to adding another 1,000 this year. If only the weather would start cooperating...

Attached are pictures of my 1971 Slant 6 Duster. It is a very solid almost rust free California car that was orignally a Slant, Auto, Air, PS, deluxe interior car. When I bought it had a 318 half cobbled up and installed (big cam, 4 bbl, leaky headers with the stock 2.76 7 1/4" rear and 18" radiator).

Currently I am getting ready to reinstall a slant six with air, repaint the engine compartment and finish the interior. I have already swapped out the
grill for a sharktooth one.

Here's my Demon. I just got it this week, but have been working on it daily. So far I've replaced the water pump and all the hoses and belt. Today I changed the oil and filter, and put on a new idler arm. I really like how easy everything is to reach on the slant 6!

Hey BrianT, very nice Demon you have there. Congrats and keep up with the good work ! If I might ask, for how much you picked it up?

right on Matt Selwa. i dont think anyone ever puts them back to slant sixes. good job!
Thanks for the encouragement. I was thinking about going with either a new Hemi or 360 and decided the car was too unique NOT to change back to a Slant. Based on the high impact color and all of the options I suspect it will probably get more attention at shows as a six. (plus I will not need to change K-Member, exhaust, rear end, engine, etc) Not to mention I will have way less money into it this way and have something I can drive all the time economically as my summer car.

Regards,

-Matt

Here is my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 225" 3 speed torqeflite that I have had since I was 15 1/2 (I'm 20 now). 85,000 miles with at least 600 quarter mile passes (many wins and 1 track championship). I built up the new six as my Senior project in High School. .030 over, Ross custom forged racing pistons, CLifford 4-BBL intake, Holley 390, mild cam, etc. With the stock 2.76 7 1/4", and shifting at 4500-5000 it turns mid 17s. Should be better with my new 3.23 8 3/4" suregrip I plan on putting in this summer. Next year I plan on repainting the Dart. Too many Sublime green '70 Darts in my opinion (even though it's a nice color), so I plan on retaining the FY4 Light Golden Metallic Paint and adding dual hood scoops, a black bumblebee stripe, and a Go-Wing. What do you think?
