thanks guys. i hvae like 2000 pictures i need to figure out where to upload in order to dhare them.. no way am i uploading only 10 at a time here..lol..

car ran great. would have liked a bit better mpg but i'll be able to fine tune it more now that its home in one piece. seemed to do a little better on gas once we hit PA again.. not sure what that was about.

no real issues..

car was so loaded that i think it threw off the pinion angle so like between 72-75 it had a slight vibration that it never had before. wasn't bad since the sweet spot for the motor seems to be 65ish and we just ran 70mph most of the time. (need less gear. want to be able to easily cruise at 80). the real of the car was dragging ***. i really over loaded the thing....

the idle got super low at times and wanted to stall . no idea why. once you started driving it was fine.. crappy gas? dirt somewhere? vac leak? i'm not sure... it also gets a litte harder to start at times if it sit for like 10 minutes.. kinda like its flooding itself but it started everytime and just goes....

only once i got pressure int he gas tank for some reason.. we have had the car since i think 2011 and it has never done that before. could also smell gas at times.. i suspect a clogged vent? collapsed vent hose? has to be something stupid.

twice i think it was the car was dead all together,. touched two little wires on the starter relay. i mean barley touched them and the car fired right up. it pulled this crap a few days before we left. i'll have to look at it. maybe its the relay or could be just bad end to one of the wires. should be an easy fix either way.

i reset the electric choke once.. i need to make anothe adjustment, seems i have to lean it some.. easy one there..

rear seal on the trans is leaking.. i have a new one here.. i think i want to throw a new yoke on the drive shaft before i change the seal.. that ***** is an original 1971 yoke that was in my yellow car and really the only thing old left on this car.

oil leak that i knew it had before i left. went through i think 6 qts of oil. once winter comes dave who helped me build the engine said he will help me find that damn leak..

sat morning on the way home in texas i thought i ripped the entire bottom of the car off on a dip that i didn't hit very fast at all.. i actually got out to see if i ripped the oil or trans pan off it hit so hard. found yesterday that it was just the bottom of the swaybar bracket that bolts to the k-frame...that was a relief.

51 fuel stops.

i love the steering and suspension.. i think i'm going to post a separate thread on that....

Great trip Joe!
I love road trips and the goal of my 68 cuda rebuild is to do a leisurely tour of the U.S. including the mother road. I'm thinking 4-6 wks.
First thing I ever bought off ebay from San Jose and drove it 2800 miles to Ohio. Old cars beat you up and I would stop every 200 miles. I think the key to mileage is OD and I should consider a more comfortable seat.
Sorry I don't know much about Jamie's Dart. Can you summarize the drivetrain and suspension a little here?
