As per my engine bulders request (lol) I'm posting an update on my budget 367 motor. It's in a street car 74 Duster that get's a lot of drive time and at least 20passes a year (counting the track passes)
the setup is:
367 c.i.
9.95:1 forged SRP floating pistons, mildly ported X heads with stainless 11/32" stem valves and beehive springs, comp solid cam XS282S 520/540 lift, 244/252 duration @.050, crane gold 1.5 roller rockers, Holley Strip Dominator, proform 750DP carb,MSD box and dist., Stock crank, 340 rods, windage tray and oil pan, std. volume pump. Trans is a 727 with Rev. man. VB and a 3500 stall 10" converter, rear is 8.75 with 4.56 gear. Best pass this year was 12.24 @ 112mph an pump gas through mufflers on a drag radial, track wasn't good and had one bad front shock so 60' times lagged.

Over winter It gets more converter, a victor intake and possibly Hughes 1.6 roller rockers, then we aim for 11's on motor and spray 125hp to whatever it decides to run on giggle gas. Thanks for reading, my builder/friend will appreciate this :toothy10: CP Motorworks of Janesville, WI made it happen and got me movin!

Get it to hook and you'll be in the 11's with what you got now with that mph...

Agreed. The time seems slow for the set up.

What is the cars weight and how are you hooking up?
What size tire & Launch RPM?

IMO, your not going to get alot of gain with the Victor. I'd hold off on it, just for now. I like the 1.6 rocker idea alot!

Should be in the 11's with the MPH, like 11.80's or so. If it's not 60' in the low 1.7 or better into the 1.6 range, you should start looking there.

Don't know what air pressure you run in the rears, but, if MT et radials, don't get sucked into lowering the pressures if at 16psi. Most of the cars like more pressure, like up around 20psi.

Clamp the crap out of the front section of your rear springs. Make them rigid!

Have fun!

Traction was off that day, 60' times were mid 1.80's. The car weighs just a lil over 3100lbs with me in it. There are 11's in it yet but in about 1 month of tuning suspension it went from a best of 12.91 to a new best of 12.24, I just ran out of season here in Wisconsin lol. Because it's only a 3500 converter and the thing is so light i only hold about 1500rpm on the line then flash it the rest of the way. It's on a 275/60/15 ET Radial. Still trying to work out things like shift points and after a nasty pot hole it needs an alignment, it pulls right pretty hard so that isn't gona help anything. Dyno time in the spring at the new Mr. Norm's Garage is a for sure thing.:toothy10:

Don't waste good money on a dyno..just keep going to the "real" life dyno the track..my build is very similar to yours(except i run aluminum heads) i've gone a best 11.79 with consistant 11.90's at 111 mph and weight 3450,my drag radials work best at 15psi and with the 360 i 60' in the low 1.60's..

It's only $75 for three pulls w/o tuning, I tune through driving anyway but figured why not dyno it for ***** and giggles.

How do you 60' that?? what's the trans, 727 or 904? verter? and suspension/tire setup? Thanks much.

A very simple set up..904 race preped,3500 stall converter,8 3/4 4.30's w/spool,cheap Summit drag shocks 90/10 in the front, 50/50 in the rear,pinion snubber,clamps removed from rear section of h.d. springs,m/t 257/60 15 drag radials set @ 15 psi..i 60' in the low to mid 1.60's with the 360,low 1.40's when the 416 was in it..

$75 for 3 pulls thats a deal...

You should be able to 60ft. in the high 1.6s at least with your set-up, my best 60ft. was a 1.79 & 1.81s consistantly in my mild 360 with 3.73 gears, 11" 2800 stall & 255/60/15 DRs.

Hell, I just might join for the giggles! $75?! Dang!

Nice to finally see the real specs on these cars...

None of this gets back to my usual board that you've seen me on, I still have some of the chevy's confused there :toothy10:

I dream of those 60' times lol, I'm sure once I have two good front shocks on it I will see an improvement.
