Time to NUT UP or SHUT UP
Cold on the coast here, tonight lows of 16*F without the wind and that's picking up.....
Did you get the snow tires yet? Ran a neighbor to the airport today, sure was gusty going thru the fields east of Reardan. Have you ever been stopped by the cop in Reardan???Blowing hard and snowing in Davenport. Lots of drifts.
On a side note, it seems like there is no place that is perfect year round. Places like Vegas or Pheonix seem to have 2 seasons, bearable and pit of hell hot. At least up here we seem to have a full 4 seasons, from the almost or below zero temps in winter, to a couple of weeks above 100 in August. At least it isn't the same day after day. :-D
I said to hell with Twin Falls, ID and I made it to Meridian, ID with 45 mins drive time left on my log book (DOT sucks). I decided to go further because they were expecting -23* in Twin Falls and only -9* in the Boise area tonight.
There was some ice on the road from Cedar City, UT to Beaver, UT then it cleared up and I hit a weak snow storm from Snowville, UT to Twin Falls, ID. Nothing too bad and I did 65-70 mph pretty much the whole way. I get to waist a bunch of time driving through Oregon at 55mph in about 11 hrs.
Nikki called me from the side of SR 900 just outside of Issaquah, WA on her way home because some retards decided that it was a good idea to stop in the middle of the road that was covered in ice for no good reason. Nikki was stuck on a hill and couldn't get her 66 Dart to move so she had to chain up. She called to ask where the hazard light switch was...........I told her to just turn on her right turn signal.:-D

Must not have been in Vegas in the winter. 25 deg. with the wind chill comming off of Mt. Charlston...brrrrr....I lived there 5 years and had enough of the extreem weather. I think ill stay in So. Cal
I have not had the pleasure of meeting him yet. My neighbor has met him a few times, all over the sme thing, 1 plate light being out. I am always amazed at how foggy that entire area from the airport all the way out to Reardan can get. We turn up 231to come home. Drove out to Davenport the first winter (2008) we were here. could not believe the wind whipping thru the fields. Do you commute into Spokane? No, but I know plenty that have. It's a bit of speed trap through there. I just watch my speed and so far I haven't had the pleasure of meeting him. You didn't, did you?
True enough. I've only visited, but never during the winter.

First winter we were here Highway 2 was real icy, got caught by a side wind, right near the house that has the rolls of hay for sale in front of it, last I checked they were working on the roof still, and we went for a bit of a ride. Luckily we were the only ones on the road. Almost saved it, ended up *** end first in a snow bank, no damage. Wacky wife thought it was fun.........Almost 13 years now, every day (minus weekends and holidays). I work in Airway Heights, south on Garfield (intersection where the KFC is) at Garco Building Systems. 28 miles of bliss, one way. :-D
Wind can get pretty bad, usually blows across the road so you get to fight it as it trys to blow you into the ditch. Couple of winters ago saw a car just take off to the right when the wind hit it right while they were on a patch of ice. He didn't save it. Fun stuff.
You are not saying the the winters in Vegas are harsh, are you? I spent 18 years in AZ and would hardly call the winters in the desert harsh. First winter we were here in Eastern Washington there was several days it was -18, during the day, before the wind chill.....

Then on Tuesday I get to drive 11 hrs from Twin Falls back to Seattle.
You might want to rethink that time frame, One of the guys on my crew left the jobsite (right next to Safeco and Qwest stadiums) at 5pm yesterday and got home to somewhere in Renton at 3:40am this morning. I ended up staying at the hotel next door. The commute from the bar up to my room was a little wobbly but I made it.
Just got home. I drove right through that blizzard and spent most of the day no being able to see the hood of the truck. I will post pics later.
