I used the k-member for the motor mounts and mounted a steering box from a Chevy van in the left front leg of the k-member.I wanted a draglink instead of the cross steer setup.
 
Thanks, Steering box was my concern. I saw some photos with the K-frame left in but no clear shots of the steering box and how it hooked to the linkage.
 
Not straight axle, but a friend on mine made this. I would love to build one of these, but no money for a hemi!

He also built a fairmont altered wheel base. He used to run the wilshire shaker(sp)against flashback all the time. A straight axle chevy II
 
This pic is from the 70s, the car was called the "Candy Striper" here on Vancouver Island BC, it is still around, now a prostreet car. I own the complete chrome front axle setup out if it, that was pulled from it in the 80s.
In the 80s the car was painted black and was dubbed the "High Boy"

The Spy Machine was a '60 Valiant that was built in the late 60s. It ran out of Lake Cowichan here on Vancouver Island BC. It was powered by a Chevy 327 with a Clutchflite trans.
Such a wild looking car!
One of the previous owners is helping me with pics and info of the car and my son and I plan to clone it, using the front axle out of the Candy Striper Cuda.

Pic from early 80s of this '69 340 Swinger was known as the "Grasshopper" here in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island BC. It is still around, actually my neighbor owns it and he has since the early 80s. It is now a full rotisserie redone car that is amazing, has a 700HP 528 HEMI in it now.

Not an A body but a dang bitchin car that my friends in Nelson BC built. Pat and Chris did such a good job on this car it looks like a factory built ride! They have raced it all over North America.
I have the Cragars off of this car that will be going on the Spy Machine clone...
