I get these thanks to the help of somebody on FABO a couple years ago, but can't find the source for them. Can someone help us out?

A big THANKS for this info, I'm getting ready to change out my brake cylinders and decided to upgrade to stainless lines and flex hose.

This is something that goes between the flare on the line and the conical part in the fitting. It is softer than either and that allows it to form to both imperfect surfaces. It does not replace either the line flare or the fitting. It is soft so exact angle is probably not critical.

Searched "refrigeration copper flare gaskets."

used to use these in HVAC on what little refer stuff we did

Much cheaper than what I posted.

as Car Nut posted above, I believe it is the 3/16 ones - that's the size of brake line isn't it?

Normally, yes. I did not pay attention to size, I just did a search for random sources. These, generally, are not as difficult to find as you might thing. 3/16 is likely not used that much in HVAC, tho. Most refrigeration controls, pressure / temperature switches, etc, are 1/4 SAE flare at the smallest
