Anyone have a link for a correct fitting speedometer cable for a 69 Valiant with 727?
I purchased one from EBay, the length and the trans end was ok but speedometer end would not snap in.
The nylon end is not deep enough.

I have not heard of any issues with aftermarket cables

Are you sure the inner cable was engaging correctly on the gauge end? That would prevent it from going on all the way

I got one at NAPA years ago. It worked perfectly.

I would not connect the trans end then try to insert the Speedo end

If the works then connect the trans end

Trans end might not be inserted correctly too pushing the cable out the cluster end causing the issue

Thanks for the info!
It is definitely the plastic end going to the speedo. I removed the plastic end from the cable and it bottoms out before it snaps in.

I just found the issue, the lock tap at speedo has a small broken piece and not allowing it snap in.
It is a clean break so it looked like that’s the way it was supposed to be.
Thanks again for all the info

Us 67 guys don't have that issue!
Chrysler has to make it better in 68!
