I've used the stethoscope, as mentioned; cannot isolate it to a single location. ALL of the pushrods can be spun by hand with the valves CLOSED, this is not normal?
After the motor has been shut down for a little while the only thing putting any tension on the pushrod when the valves are closed is the little tiny spring inside the lifter.
