Srt-68 Barracuda

-
I love buildups like this, always so much to learn. I definitely approve of the car choice, '67-'69 barracuda coupes are my favorite A-Body hands down.

Will it stay white with lower belt stripes? If I could suggest anything it would be to make some custom hood inserts that say "6.1 Hemi" or something similar. Maybe have them milled from aluminum bar stock or stainless.

I'm thinkin' Sublime with a ghosted in strobe stripe. Hood inserts will have some sort of call-out--haven't decided yet.
:read2:

Something like this.

Sublime would look good. Are you thinking AAR type strobe along the top body line, or keeping the belt stripe and doing some kind of strobe/fade on that?

Hasn't that been done before? Like over and over in the 1970's?

Try the same color but base coat silver metallic and clear lime....something new but old...just like the build itself.

I know simple single stage colors cover and go on easier.

But there in nothing easy about the build....why cop out on the paint?

I've seen plenty of crazy and unique paint schemes, 3 of my best friends are body/paint guys. I guess I'm more of a minimalist and a bit conservative, cause I still like most of the factory musclecar stripes and colors. Sometimes less is more.

Shizzle me this Momophead. Come up with something damn near impossible, and I'll take it from there. I am a huge fan of the Chrysler High-Impact colors, and would like to stick with them.

If you come up with something in Panther Pink, I will personally fly to Mazzurrah and kick your ***.

Only pink I like belongs to my ol lady.....Oh and you better fly here so you have enough strength.....and bring a lunch if you wanna dance with me. :toothy10:
I'm still strong and young enough to lead for hours.

Flat green....yawn.

Wake me up when you get to some more tech stuff. I like the talk about toner rings and muffler bearings....Its soothing to my mind.

:)

So many cars done so many times....here's your chance.

Do something unique.

How about a 30% job.....you know flattened gloss metallic green...or you could do what confusedcuda did....Mica in the clear...gives it a real cool sparkle.

Home alone today and can't work on the car:angry7:

Anger and frustration spewing from pores......

Bug eater......we all know there are only 2 color schemes in Nebraska....Red and white.

I will assume that you mean that the 3 painter buddies you mentioned have somehow combined those 2 colors in some fashion to create something with slightly more drama than the NU football helmets.

That is neither unique nor crazy:-D.

Conservative?......Is Tom Osborne the greatest conservative known to man? Yes conservative it is........go outside and look at the world. There are many other colors than Red and White.

That being said......I love Nebraska and am from there so GO NU!!!

Paint it RED AND WHITE!

Bug eater? never heard that one lol

I know I'm bordering on blasphemy by saying this, but I don't really give a damn about NU football. Might be the Missouri blood in my veins, who knows...

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a wild custom paint job when it's done well, but theres a point where it's just gaudy and over the top. But whatever 5.7Dart decides to do, i'll still love the car.

One thing is for sure--the guts of this Fish will be white, with the appropriate piping to match the exterior color. Just like the Dart.

you could possibly use a jeep rear as stated and the sensors to use the speedo,,i know a guy currently building a street rod using a dakota 5 speed manual,,no speedo provision on the tranny,,,he built a rig on the rear braks set up to pick up the wheel speed

I like the earlier idea.....not much engineering involved...low cost and quick...GPS......save your money for that diamond encrusted candy sublime green paint job you are talking about.......er I was talking about.

Now how do I remove the old heater control sliders and substitute toggle switches in their place. Any one already done this so I don't have to reverse engineer the control bracket?

Seems I'm sliding back back back.

GPS is definitely the way to go if you care about speed and distance.

As for the output trans control issue, a different rear has been ruled out. Waaay too much money. I'm working on a solution I believe will work. I'll post up when I get my parts gathered.
