67 Barracuda automatic with shifter in console
I want to replace my steering column with a reconditioned one IE; new bushings and bearings.
Not really up for reconditioning mine.
Any recommendations?
I wanted to ask here first before poking around on EBay and other places

Thanks

After Market power steering Borgeson
Is 67 larger in Diameter?
Will a 68 69 work if I swap entire unit?

"Reconditioned" on Ebay? unlikely. There is a small bearing at the top of the column and a bushing/bearing at the bottom, easily replaced. Cost= $40.

Looks like I’m gonna attempt it.
I can feel them goin bad

It is not hard to redo your 67, then you know there will be no surprises. Doing one now for my brother's 67. I know where you can get all the parts. let me know if you want to go that way, and I'll post links.

Thanks man
I might take ya up on that
Trying to source a reconditioned 68 from Norms or anywhere else first…
I’ll let ya know.

I'd greatly appreciate it if you could post those links for a '67 column. I'm having trouble finding a lower column bearing and retainer for a '67 4-speed Barracuda. Thanks.

I’m not going to rebuild my one year only 67
I’m going with a reconditioned 68 from Norms
Check with Bergman Auto Craft BAC.

I was going to rebuild my 67 column, however my column was wasted on the bottom, both the shaft and outer housing.
Got a rebuilt 68 column from Norm's, very nice piece.
He had a 67 as well, but I went with the 68, doesn't look any different unless you know or care, not sure if it is a better design.

I may be able to help, if you need the lower steering column bearing.

Made this for a guy a while back, and it seemed to work for him, only issue was the pocket for the bearing. He said it was 2", and it ended up being 52mm which is 2.047", so he had some sanding to do... easy fix on my end tho.
made out of fiber reinforced nylon, on a high temp custom printer.
