Step Daughter problems (need advise)

I should have qualified my Dr Phil suggestion...I don't think it would do the step-daughter one iota of good, but it might help the mother get on board with what needs to be done to get the girl on the straight and narrow.... and I agree that fear is a great motivator.
 
Thanks for all the advise guys but we sat down with her and gave her the choice to stay home and do work around the house until she finds a full time job. No going out, no friends over ever, or go back to school full time and work part time. And if any thing comes up missing or anyone in the house when were not home, Her and all her **** will be set on the curb, and if she dont like these rules then its time for her to pack her **** and get the **** out. Told her its time to grow up and be responsible or pack her **** and and let her feet beat the street. Basically last chance to do the right thing and be respectful and give a **** about her family and our home or get the **** out.
So we'll see what happens I just hope for her sake she grows up because its awefully cold out on the streets of Chicago.
 
Just wanted to say sorry about the language but the whole step daughter situation just wears on me after awhile and just need to blow off a little steam.
Thanks again guys for some of your life stories and advise. Nice to know I'm not the only one going through this type of bad situation.
 
Hey brother, don't worry about the language. I am of the same opinion about my stepdaughter . You have to walk a mile in our shoes to truly understand the frustrations associated with this subject.

All kidding aside. Don't mean to make lite of the situation. I hope the best for you guys. I'll throw this out there. Have you concidered church ?
 
No problem with the language. There's a time and place for everything and this was it. While I am REALLY holding out hope, I can say with almost 100% certainty that until she hits rock bottom, she ain't changin. God bless you, though.

There's the root problem. It's not a stepdaughter issue - it's a mother issue. DAMHIK. Stepdaughter has no reason to change.
 
boy you guys are all right,i hear this crap about kids today,makes me sick,when i got a job at 16 i payed my mom for rent,got a car,took care of MY ****,kids of today dont have a clue,good luck
 
Wow....dudes that sucks. I have a hard enough time taking care of my university essays I could never handle little **** disturbers like you guys do. Kudos to your patience guys
