Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good morning, reading the above, a question came to mind...I've had my Fury up to 100...probably not going to take it any faster, but any idea what rpm you'd get to at top speed? 2.76 ratio I am guessing.

It should be where you get peak HP and depending on the wind resistance/drag on the car... Those old Fury's are boats with lots of front end area...

You never know their reasoning...but I get it, sometimes I get that feeling too.

The other guys are better loaders than me... They have been doing it longer than me and I'm still in the learning curve...

The other loader with less experience than me is out getting foot surgery...

The ones I've been wearing to work are about shot. Can't complain after at least 3 years of daily wear. And the pair I had before them is still OK when I decide to toss these
I'll 'em better when they were all union made in the US.
The ones I'm wearing are older style, US made and need to be reheeled, maybe resoled.
The store I was going to stop at usually stocke them. However I guessed right and made the wrong decision (tricked myself) at the new fork in I-95 so missed the Girard Ave exit. Couldn't get safely over to the Callowhill exit so just came home and got lunch.
The newer style ones I have can't be resoled and they're worn out - so those I'll buy new.

Not sure if you were talking to me,

They asked me to come in today and work some OT...

I need the $$$, so I agreed...

Then I find out that another guy in our group was asked and will be in... He's a good guy... The two other guys were asked to come in and declined, so it turns out that I was the last one offered... Now I feel like the last guy picked for the team in gym class.... :(
Today is a regular day for me. But, they are still flip floppin on tomorrow. Pretty sure I will be in on OT. They are trying to get people to take off though cause they realized they would have a buttload of OT to pay. lol

We get vouchers from work for Red Wing shoes... We have to get steel toed safety boots with metatarsal guards for the top of the foot....
I think we get $75 toward any hard toe shoe. A lot of them wear steel toe sneakers. I will stay with leather boots..

I think my older pair is 5 years and they are not US made. I did not realize that till after I got them. I think those are German. My current pair may be China made. Very limited selection of US made last time I looked. :(

This one is a classic model - very plain. Used to be able to buy it with or without steel toe. Now I don't know if they have it without. I'd actually like a pair without now..too late.
The first time I discovered red wings were not all union made in the US was when a fairly new pair was leaking. So I was looking inside and saw the China made. Fn salesperson didn't mention it at all. Couldn't make 'em water tight and the laces broke every few months because the hooks and eyelets hadn't been finished properly.
Sometimes when I was working for the parks, we'ld get a discount from the local store. (discount being the park covered some of the cost). One time the Philly store gave me a discount - which I'm sure Inde paid for, not my my park.

My boots have f*cked up laces... They started unravelling and the outside covering is coming off... :icon_fU:

I have a spare set of laces, but I'm riding these out as far as I can.... :steering:

They'll give you free replacement laces. It's still f'd up, and a PIA. Another good name ruined in my book. I trusted them until they proved my trust was ill placed. Now I still buy Red Wings but with a lot more caution. grumble grumble

I think I found my chimney problem! So....the thimble goes through the basement/foundation wall. When they built it, they just let the mortar drop inside. Filled to right below the pipe entrance. No drop/cleanout. I thought maybe if I chipped some of that out and made an area for water to collect it would just boil away when lit. I started that this morning. Not getting through the concrete blobs very much, mostly just loosening the soot build in nooks and crannies. What I found is a low spot right inside the thimble edge. After a bit of digging and vacuuming it turns out there is what I believe was an intentionally made drain hole! This would let any water in chimney drain outside the foundation wall. Apparently just got plugged solid at some point. Probably do a bit more cleanup in there and get it burning this weekend. Fingers crossed.

Didn't know about the laces. Not sure if I ever replaced these. Never wore out a pair of laces. But, when Holley was a pup she would chew them off my shoes.

Yep, You need a place for the condensation to collect and drain.

Dang, I'm pooped. 15 trips to the basement and back.

The tooth saga was a complete clusterf*ck today. They got me in and all numbed up and began to probe the tooth. They couldn’t get the crack to flex or move at all. After about 15 minutes of probing (I had been in the chair for an hour already) the surgeon stopped and said he wouldn’t remove the tooth.

There is still an abscess under it and he thinks the tooth can be saved by a root canal so he’s sending me to a specialist to open it up and see if it can be saved. If not, then I go back to him to remove it.

I said screw that, just take it out. He said sorry, I can’t...your blood pressure is too high right now. I called your primary care doc so you can go see him and get your pressure down before I do the extraction if it becomes necessary.

So now it’s another week of antibiotics, make appointments with docs and try to get my blood pressure down while living with this pain.

When do you see specialist number 2? or is that TBD also?
