Stop in for a cup of coffee

Change over to snow from rain just happened about 30 minutes ago, 50 mph winds. And it’s a white out like I’ve never seen before. I went outside a minute ago, can’t see more than 6inches in front of me. We already have 3 inches of snow on the ground, it’s a heavy wet snow.
You kept asking for snow...well, now you got it.

Enjoy.

When I was a kid and Dad was in Needles working on I40 the guys from Yeager would frequently go up the river to Laughlin for the "Wednesday night $1 all the ribs you cold eat" thing at one of the casinos. One of his mixer drivers was a card counter and was quite adept at Blackjack. Driver's wife would stand by just out of sight. Driver would win, cocktails would come. More he won the more cocktails came. Wife monitors the situation and when the $ started flowing back the dealer's direction, she come over with a shopping bag, scoop all the driver's chips off the table and off to the cashier they would go.

-23..
Ok this is about enough.
-31 celcius.
Im thinking it will nudge -40 by morning. Then f/c will be the same.

I have news for card counters, NOW all six decks are being shuffled and reused all the time, on nearly every hand...Gives a huge edge to the house...

Wasn’t Summer up there on a Tuesday this year?

Last year it was on Wednesday.

 We made a couple weekend trips to Clear Lake while we were there, just beautiful. Down to ND a few times. Winnepeg a time or two. Which was a beautiful city in '67. Dad came home after working on a concrete grain silo project one night, said "It was raining on the ground and snowing at the top of the silo. We're outa here."

Nah, it just gives them back the 8% advantage the game was designed to have in the first place.

37* and raining buckets here now. The temps are rising so none of this will become snow.

Fine by me.

For me the only way to win at Black Jack is to hit and run....Move tables often, look for the table where the dealer is on a cold streak...play a few hands, and if i'm hot stay, if not see you later!

I can win a couple hundred a half hour pretty regularly....or not!!!

When there is room - always!
Trick always seem to be to keep the crank from turning

I use a long screwdriver to keep it from turning when I torque the flex plate bolts to the torque converter...

Good morning folks
Weekend plan: oil and filter on wife’s truck. Then got some ideas on the Duster. So as it is right now I have a cheapie refurbished battery, Tuff Stuff 100a alternator, cooling fans set to come on @ 210* and off @195* with a 195* thermostat. The car runs between 195-210 which I am perfectly satisfied with. What I’m not comfortable with is at idle in traffic with the fans on voltage drops to 12.1 ish. (typical Chrysler). It comes up to 14+ just off idle. So my thinking is first to replace the battery. I grabbed an Optima red top will install it this weekend. I also picked up a 180* thermostat. The thought being that with the 195* once the fans come on they never really shut off and once the car is moving I would think it should be able to drop below the 195 fan setting. And at least with the better battery it will better handle the fan load at idle. I also down the road I will update the fuel injection software, my understanding is the update has an option to raise idle to user specific rpm when fans are engaged. With the stall converter I may be able to set the idle high enough to bring charging voltage up without issue Am I over thinking this? Does any of this make sense?

The reason that the voltage drops at idle is it's not enough RPM to produce enough power for the demand... Especially at night with the headlights on...

Bumping up the idle will help as long as you don't end up idling too high...

Another option is to put it in neutral when idling at a light...

Going to be a spring day here today. Spring=Wind in this neighborhood. What's the wind chill factor at 70* with 25mph winds? Must get the Honda out and take a run.

We went sledding today in 28° F weather and 28 MPH wind.... that wind blew through three layers of clothes....

Luckily they have a fireplace in the building near the sledding hill for warming up... Of course the fire was a little small and there were some logs near there, so I put a couple more on to help get more heat out of the fire...
