Stop in for a cup of coffee

anyone in here ever plant gardens? I have for years, but this new program a co-worker found is pretty neat and has me rethinking my garden plans.

Vegetable Garden Planner: Square-Foot Gardens, Raised Beds, and More
We had gardens for years and we created versions like that link shows. Here is an early photo of one we were building in Cincinnati. Three 4’x8’ plots in the back row, the larger one in the front was 8’x8’ and eventually flanked by two 4’x8’ plots with pavers laid between them all. The last one in the back row was for tomatoes so it had a square mesh sheet running down the middle to tie the plants up as they grew. The bed between it and the flowers was asparagus.

The boxes on the fence were herbs.

Sweet! I’ve planted gardens at the farm since I could walk. But this year, I’m starting one from scratch on my own property. Tired of family drama so I’m walking away from the farm by years end.

I'm thinking of starting some blueberries
They are tricky. Need the right acidity for sure and then the right variety for the cliamte and location.
Well just mowed my 2 acres. Freakin weeds were 4 feet high. Will have to do it several more times this year with all the rain we have gotten.
Are you allowed to make it a meadow? Then you mow it once a year although around here there is always weeding out the invasives if doing a wildflower 'garden'.

Price is reasonable. Tim developed that car very thoroughly. Be nice if he could buy it back. He was always always going for more speed. Other people since have had slightly different goals. If I got it, I would take it a little different direction as well.

When I can. Much more when my folks still were in north Jersey. Small lot here and I wasn't around enough. But last year I grew tomatoes a couple yards down. And I've got some herbs up on the fence next door. Took em in during the deep freeze.
Everybody planning gardens now??
Should be but I haven't thought about it 'til now.
I've heard the square foot guy on "You Bet Your Garden". I'm with Kieth - a little too intense. I do agree that raised beds often have an advantage.

Once the dog is gone i will build a couple raised gardens out my back door. Theres raccoons in the neighbourhood so i want the garden within shooting range.

I may plant some corn a ways away, maybe it will keep the raccoons out of my garden.

Another way to get some room underneath that's pretty safe.

Don't ask me why there's a puddle underneath.
I don't know. Might have been a pool up top from the valve covers (which I just retorqued yesterday).
Cleaned it up and it didn't recur.

Don't think your dog would tree 'em?

Nice day here also, my young friend mistakenly double booked our Patriots Point outing with her best friend's birthday so we'll do it later this month. It is a very slow time at work so I'll have plenty of days off....

Unusual that a dolphin cooperates with the picture-taker.

If its a teener, thermostat housing is drooling.
That's the wagoneer - AMC 360. It dribbled some coolant the other day when I had loosened the alternator brackets.
This is oil for sure. It came off the back of the engine and was on the shift and kickdown linkage. From underneath I can see its also a little moist along head gasket, but I can't beleive that's it.
My first guess is an oil puddle collected somewhere I can't/didn't see from the valve covers needing to be retorqued. Retorqued them yesterday. Next guess is the intake. Hoping its not some galley plug on the back.

Just put a pan of cheap dry cat food in a pan outside the back door and the raccoons will flock to it. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel after that.

Wife wants green. I’m sick of green.
Earth tones on buildings.
Mom and dad painted house strawberry. I went and stayed at my sisters house for the summer. I hated it.
