Howdeeeeeee yall. Ain't been tryin to ignore yall. I've just been really beat this past week.

I thought I had a GP38 but I just went up to the attic and brought this down, it's a GP40 which is similar but different.

What I really want is an SD40-2.

This is an N scale set but i am not completely sold on N scale. I kinda still like the H.O. scale more.

I have some of the following sets...
O gauge (1:47 scale)
S gauge sets (1:64 scale)
Some HO gauge sets (1:87 scale)
And some Z gauge sets (1:220 scale)

I really like the S gauge most of all. Large enough for full detail but not as bulky as the O gauge sets. Besides, O gauge mostly just looks like a toy version while S gauge looks a lot like the real thing.

HO just lacks the finer details I want to help believe it’s the real thing.

Z gauge is just a cute little thing pretending to be a real train...fun, but that’s all.

Only O and O27, and HO here. And its all packed up in boxes on a shelf in the garage...
I tried giving the Lionels back to my cousins a few years ago, but they didn't want at the time.
One day...

How is the new work gig going? Still at it?

Yeah. It's kickin my *** but I like it too much not to keep at it. Went to see my orthopedic foot doctor Monday to get molded for some new custom insoles. Hopefully when they come in, I will get some relief. Here's some pictures of my friend's Chevelle we're doin. It's a 1970 LS5 454 car. Numbers matching, he's the original owner. He said we've done more to it in two weeks than the guy who had it before us did in four years. Got it blasted today and it gets in epoxy primer tomorrow. I am still working on the 51 Chevy truck to 95 S10 chassis job. When I get that done, I start disassembling a 62 Corvette for restoration. If yall want some pictures of some of the stuff we have around the shop, I will post them up. Here's the Chevelle.

This is when we first got it on the rotisserie.

These two show Dale blastin it.

Here's Rhett blowing the sand out of it with a leaf blower. lol It works real good too. It will be in black epoxy primer tomorrow.

If you like imagination, you should look at On30. It is O scale that represents 30 inch narrow gauge. Just so happens it works out to be O scale, and it runs on HO scale track, so it's an "off the shelf" narrow gauge. Bachmann makes lots of nice pieces. That's what I will model when I finally get my layout back up. I love how you can just think something up, make it and there was probably a prototype for it.

Here is an awesome example.

Hey rob, i also have trouble with my feet, orthotics in my work boots help. Custom molded.
For the trip to vegas im trying out new shoes, skechers. They are much better than any shoe i have had in years, some sort of dense foam insoles.
Feet this time are non issue, its my hips that are giving up.

some cool stuff you are working on, hope you can hold up without abusing your body too much.

Good evening folks.

I have a language question.

June and I was just at Kohl's, and I was looking for soles to put inside the shoes. And could not find it. So, I asked a lady there that was wiping up some dust, "Excuse me, do you guys have soles, (and then I realized she might be only a cleaning person so I continued the question without stopping) or are you just cleaning here". The answer came rather quick when I had finished my question. "No" was the answer.

I did not get very wise from her answer, so when we came out I asked June, is it uncommon to ask a question the way I did, with an "or" in between ? Because I have had this happen to me before that I asked an either or question and get a no or a yes back which obviously does not make much sense. June then says, yes, we do not like questions like that, we want a question where we can answer only yes, or no. And that's it.
In fact, the first thing June said, "you set her up". What ?????

So, I am quite puzzled. She has earlier told me that people in stores here does not like to be asked questions and dislike having to help people. And, I have seen that maybe especially at Home Depot. It is almost impossible for me to get help there. The staff do whatever they can not to have to walk by me, and the more and more I walk around trying to find a thing, and they obviously see that I am looking, and the more and more people disappear. It is quite frustrating. I am not used to such behavior.
And, when she goes to a store she walk around until she find it or give up and go to a different store, rather than ask anyone for help. And it is like that no matter what store it is.

So, now I wonder if this is a universal United States thing, or a California thing, or even more local, limited to around here ?

Bill
First, what you were looking for are called “insoles” (inside the shoe soles).

Second, it is always best to first ask “can you help me?” And then wait for the answer before proceeding. If they can’t help directly, then ask if they know where to find the help you want. Never state what you assume their role in the store is...let them tell you what it is.

Often, engagement in the conversation a small step at a time helps to clarify whether they are who you need to speak with and also preserves their dignity if they are just a cleaning person. When you have them engaged and they do help you, thanking them for their assistance makes a big difference in how they feel about the experience...and themselves.

Exactly why I shop for everything online...... don't have to look at people or put up with people's stupid attitudes. Don't have to wander around a maze to find an item you want. No kissing *** in a store to get some help reaching items put on a shelf 7 feet tall.

Ahhhhhh internet shopping is the best, you can even shop while sitting on the crapper, it just doesn't get any better.

LOL

As Dave said, your approach can help a lot. But, if people are just lazy and avoiding their job, you may need to go to a service desk or ask for a manager. If none of that gets you what you need, you may need to take your business elsewhere.

But, it puzzles me that all questions have to be asked so they can be answered with either a yes or a no. And sort of only one question allowed because they usually speed up after the yes or the no and disappear.
That's :bs_flag:.
While it helps to keep your questions concise, everything does not need to be y/n.
it is easy to understand they meant no and wished they were home instead of at work.
We would all rather be at home than at work. (most anyway) But they are being paid to be there and do a job. It's not your problem if they are slackers.

So it's 2 o clock here and absolutely freezing.

They say beer warms a person, so there was one lonely beer in a can that my friend left.
It's cold, made me chill, threwi but somehow the cat starting joking and he is funny.

I feel tried but I can't sleep, don't want to pee in bed but it's cold out.

I can't find my keys so I think they are still in the car but I think the doors are frozen shut which is not good because the headlights are still on. I think I messed up bad and left it in 2 gear

It’s a California thing. Around here, you get pestered with employees asking to help
