So much for getting anything done on a car parked outside.
Less snow here.
Less Snow Here......Less snow here.
Hey StephenEvening all.
Yea, not much snow here either...
If you guys ever saw 4” of snow, it would be a major disaster. Besides the snow, just imagine all those Summer tires turning to hard plastic hockey pucks in the below freezing temps.Yea, not much snow here either...
I once told a Ford engineer that Ford had the best engineers in the business. Why he asked, beaming. You guys can make **** break right after a warranty is up better then anyone I have seen. He was not happy....I swear the battery in my SRT dies just about every 4 years like clock-work. Today I went to start it and it only had 11.1 volts. I still got it started, but I know it's time for a new battery since the last time I last drove it was a week ago and it was fully charged. Charging system is fine.
The car is now over 13 years old and the last battery was around 4.5 years ago in late June of 2015.
The original battery died 49 months after it was new. The second battery died 51 months later. This one has lasted 52 months and is ready to die. Funny how a 48 month battery dies almost exactly on schedule.
Run and start duty doesn’t seem to matter. The car saw 40k miles in the first 2 years and only 10k miles in the past 2 years.
I suppose I will replace it and be good to 2024.
Nice to be on the good side of some sniping. I usually see that when I'm the one getting outbid.Well, my cross ram 6x2 intake made it to the reserve on Ebay tonight. Woohoo!! In last 2 seconds it went up $1000. Love it.
All my batteries are made in the US. Exide is not anything better.Have you tried Exide batteries ?
The reason ask is that June has a similar problem in her car. Batteries does not hold. Then i read that Exide is the only batteries made in the US. So I wondered if could be the issue. But, with my experience with batteries I think it is a charging issue because whenever the car has been sitting over night or weekend, the battery voltage is only 12.3 to 12.5 volts, and that is not a fully charged battery. And if the battery are never fully charged it will not last either. She had a attery some years ago, interstate is that what they are called. And the lady there came out and opened the hood and tried to measure the relay box on the right side of the engine and she got.so pissed when I told her it was not the battery. Anyway she. Mailed the battery was fine with 12.1 volt and that was normal. I gave up and went somewhere else for a new battery. I was inside talking to the others there And it was the same.

Too bad you couldn't keep that rate going. Would be 1.8M /hr. lol
Got off work an hour early. so got to sleep early. Then th wife turned the heat too high and I dont sleep good anyway.First
When i worked at the ford dealer, we had a run of frozen batteries on the new car lot. replaced a bunch of them. All my batteries are made in the US. Exide is not anything better.
Re-read what I stated, start and run time has never made any difference on battery life across the past 13 years. My charging system works perfectly, and always has. 12.1 to 12.5 volts measured directly from the battery is perfectly normal...and fully charged on an older battery.
It’s when it drops below 12 volts that you know it’s failing.
No there wasn’t.Is there a 66 Satellite 'Vert 4speed 383 there? Bet not.....
Rural kings have a short life span as well.Goodmorning, btw.
When it comes to batteries, its all about who builds them.
The auto value batteries i sell are american made,
And last like you would expect.
Canadian tire and wally world batteries are the worst, followed by interstate.
Sold deka years ago. They are really good.Rural kings have a short life span as well.
The best brand I’ve found to date as far as longevity is Deka. We’ve converted to all deka in everything. Usually get 8-10 years out of a car battery, tractor batteries 10-15 years.
