Question for the group.
A friend, who has money, is looking at a couple MOPARS.
Both cars are done, nothing to do.
One is a 440 and one is a 426 Hemi.
He reads the Hemi's are some what of a pain have to adjust the lifters and other type maintenance.
Never had one, know little about what the require.
Comments??

That's what I thought. If they were a pain no one would of bought them in the day.
The Hemi cars one is automatic and one is a 4 speed. I feel with a Hemi car is really doesn't matter if its automatic or 4 speed, although more would lean towards the 4 speed.

If it’s an original hemi car, buy it. It will always be worth more. Especially with a numbers matching drivetrains. That said, if the Hemi is a clone and the 440 car is original, buy the 440

Both are original, and both are matching numbers, or proper date coded, to the smallest part with a number.

I told him to look at the Hagerty value guide. It usually seems to value towards the low side of what cars are valued at.

May end up being just a slab and car port but that would get me off the dirt and rocks that I currently work on. I run a generator to power my compressor and any electrical as it is.
On the bright side you have lots of natural light and fresh air!

That's what I would do to get a ballpark figure. Its almost the price of a house I bet.

Next will be to mount the defroster vents now the painting is done, and I think I may have made my decision about the color on the car. I know it was light turquoise outside, I mean exterior paint. I think I will end up painting it dark turquoise outside. I like that color more and more. The dashboard is dark turquoise, and I think it will look really good with the entire car that color.

Bill
Dashboard on the older cars was usually darker with a matte or suede finish. I think your car looks sharp in its original colors - and a light color is cooler in the sun.

Hey any on know what shade of silver goes on a 64 Cuda grill just about have it done, finally took three to make one!

That's what the 67 is, light silver argent. 64 not positive.
Yeah that’s the one thing Ma Mopar was consistent with. I know on my 64 Polara it is Argent. I don’t know about the A bodies though

Looks like its for checking the angle of the driveshaft to the universals. Should be a bubble level with it?
Service manual shows how to do it. But diagrams no photos if I remember correctly.

Welcome to the club. I’m in the exact same boat. There’s a real solid 64 Polara 500, 318/PB727, project car that runs and drives, 2 door. For sale near me. I’ve driven by it for 3 months now with the for sale sign starring at me. I keep forcing myself not to call the number to inquire.
Chris - that 65 Satellite with the poly 318 at the Frostbite is for sale. It looks good down to at least 10', and you can drive it. How cool would that be? I've got more photosand a contact if you're interested. Guy's planning to swap engines out this winter if it doesn't sell 'cause he wants more power... Shame IMO.

He also has a bunch of these to bad they are lean burn or I would be all over them.
mopar 4091018 distributor duel pick up 4091017 on part | eBay
Did you see the pics I posted of the 400 cid lean burn Magnum?
Ray - Did you see the moparts thread where the guy is asking about original lead for a points distributor? I assume you scan moparts now and then.
