Stop in for a cup of coffee

Evening, not a good one. My grandmother has been hospitalized after a presumed stroke this morning at church, at least her 3rd now in 2 years. She has dementia and it’s now only a matter of time.

I am truly sorry to hear this. It is now one week since my mom had a stroke. It hurt so much to be here and she there. Not easy with such things. Trying to think about other things, but it just works half way.

I just told June I wish we could watch the two old.grumpy men.... really like that movie and miss seeing it from time to time.

dang, frozen 2 is doing great in the theatres.

part of me wants to go see it but part of me thinks I will regret the theatre experience of over crowding and over priced candy.

Go to the store and stock up on your own candy and smuggle it in your coat or purse.... :D

Get the large popcorn and pop at the theater as they usually have free refills.... :D

Go to a later show and they are not as full... We went to see Ford vs Ferrari two weeks ago Sunday on the opening weekend at the 8:30 show and there were only two other people in the theater...

prayers for your mom as well.

thanks everyone. She and my grandfather raised me. So it hits deep. Granted no one thought she’d make it as long as she has, nearly 18 years now since diagnosed.

Sorry to hear about your mom, I hope she recovers fully and quickly...

Cold rainy day here, 2-4” of snow predicted for tomorrow. At least we got the Christmas tree up today so it “feels” a little warmer inside. :)

Outside lights are up too. Got them done a few days ago before the rain.

Thank you. By the way, she is born in 1924, and still clear in the head. She has been in an MRI, and they can see one of the veins to the brain being plugged, but now half open again. Because of her age I don't think they will surgery. But they say the problem has hit several places in the same area. When she had the stroke, her right foot did not work, her right arm, her swallowing, and her speach. The day after her right foot was back to working so well that she could walk by herself as long as someone was supporting her. Her arm is still not working, she can not eat food because of her swallowing, and her speach was limited to yes and no in Norwegian. (Ja and Nei).
I talked to a cousin of mine today who had been visiting her, and she was able to say two other words to him, which surprised both of them. And yesterday she had even said two-three other words in addition to yes and no. She has a very strong faith, and is in general a positive person and was in good health for her age.

I have been thinking about if it is possible to find a Chrome book for her, and one other cousin I have who is a nurse and working with stroke patients says that could be a good idea because there is software that might help them get their language back. And possible for me to send her pics, and talk to her on Skype. She has also gotten a little bit of her voice back so it is not just whispering.

You could also look at Whatsapp or Facetime as well.

Two minute warning, I bet the Broncos lose

They are 3 points ahead but in two minutes the other team will win.

:eek::eek:

Oops. I accidentally created a couple of heat engines in my windows with the new insulating foam panels. The gaps at the top were allowing the heated air in, and when it cooled against the glass it was being propelled out through the gaps on the bottom half. It was making a serious breeze of cold air around the bottom gaps accelerated by the thermal forces. Kinda like a heat pump in reverse.

Some gaffers tape around the edges shut it down and the garage temp went up by 1.5* in less than half an hour.

Gotta love understanding thermodynamics and physics.

Does anyone know what kind of hose that used between the heater and the defroster vents on a 65 Dart ?

I am picturing some kind of flexible corrugated aluminum hose. But I can not find anything in 2.5 inch, which is the size of the defroster vents. I find 2 inch, and then I find 4 inch, and a few in 3 inch.

I am aware of that the heater outlets are smaller than 2.5 inches.

You can buy the stuff by the bulk at NAPA but one end is a different size on one hose.
