Yes they can why though? Screwdriver or coil wire works fine. Better yet lick it and jump the starter relay! Chris just take 12v and run it to the + side of the coil and see if you get spark. If you do it is a wiring issue, if not ignition side. You can get 12v to the coil but no amps also easily with old wiring. That's what a load light is for.

LOL Tin foil hat is recommended
1 for better ground to hood
2 Absorb the impact if you get spark.

Hey Mike. Might as well delete the converter sale thread. It started Dec 8 and the seller hasn't responded to 2 requests for information and clearing his inbox out.

I've tried the coil wire to engine block trick. Do the coils have to energize for a bit ? If so, maybe thats my problem.

yes, the old one showed nothing, new one moved the gauge way to the right but I forget the number off top of my head

Im going to take my seat apart finally and pull the cover to look for the head rest locations.. I just cant feel where they should go or if the frame has the spots for them..

yep, nada. I even bypassed the ballast when i did it. I'm wondering if a bad dizzy wire maybe, thats the one thing I didn't check.

that is weird, my wife burnt ours up Sunday evening. just made a clunk and stopped working. Thing lasted 12 years so not complaining
