Stop in for a cup of coffee

Nice day here. Despite feeling a little run down from my cold, I decided to take care of a couple things on the Neon. Had a oil light coming on when starting cold, but would clear if restarted. Last week I changed the oil and saw it was weeping a little. I had just changed it in the Spring, so was under warranty from AZ. Store 5 min away showed one. Took it out and went to get replacement. They had no issue with replacing under warranty, but… they didn't have one. He says 2 other stores nearby have it. I tell him where I will go. He calls to confirm. I go get it. 15 min run is now about an hour. Wife calls to request pick something up. OK, now I'm at about an hour and a half. Go home. Have a bite for lunch. Grab sensor and head out to the car. As I walk I look it over. There's no F'kin terminal!!! :wtf::mad::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:. Drive to another store and finally got a good one. Back in with no leaks. Just have to see if it works right when cold. I did get one other thing done. Had some condensation in headlight. Pulled that off before my first run and blew it out. Let it out in the sun open all day. Looked OK. Put back on.

And now for something completely different! We have been on a tequila and orange juice run here of late. Not really sure why? May be paint related? Hah! We are sticking with gun theme since I have been shooting for league scores every honking day this last week.

Well, I have to say congrats to my daughter. She completed the Lifeguard training and is now a certified lifeguard. She took the advanced professional class and pushed herself hard to complete it. She passed with flying colors!

I’m very proud of her today!

Today’s household project...new cabinet in the upstairs common bath. Was a pain to assemble and install...and even more of a pain to adjust the doors and frame to be properly square (poor design specs and low quality hardware).

My wife bought it because she liked the look so I had to find a way to make it right. New hardware, a few braces and additional screws and it now is like it should be. Wife is happy with it.

I bought replacement frosted glass for it instead of the clear glass, but I’m not going to replace that until tomorrow.

That's how Saturdays always seemed to go. Half the day lost in getting the parts...
Just roll with it. :)

If I knew, I could market it and become a billionaire!

I honestly don’t know why but my docs think it’s because of my body getting happy with all the weight I lost.
Better than my theory that it had to do with the full moon and being bit by a werewolf...

My powder room is still demolished...
After things get back to normal at work will get things sorted out so kimmie can pick colours.

I’m quite sure now that my wife has things getting in order in the common bath, she is going to ask me to take it all out so she can paint it in whatever color pallet she chooses....and replace all the light fixtures and towel bars when I put it back together. :BangHead:

One thing I have learned about her is that the “nest building” instinct runs strong and nothing in the house ever stays the way it is...or was.

So got back from the road trip today, 300 miles, averaged 15.97 hand calculated. Same trip along the same path a month ago, 11. Only thing changed is the plugs and coil packs. No CEL. Calling that fixed

Ours got the new tub/shower, havent decided what to do with the extra space. New flooring and i have to check outside walls to see if last owner did what he said, replaced insulation/vapour barrier. If not then it has to wait until spring. When we redid kitchen, i took it to the studs and re insulated. R10 with paper backing doesent cut it.

Wow especially up there. Minimum for code here is R15 for 2x4 walls. I built my mini barn out of 2x6s so I’ll probably do R-15 stuff between the studs and put the 1 inch pink foam r10 stuff in. Roof I’m doing the bubble foil and then R30 plus foam r10. really overkill for a storage barn but I’m experimenting and have a few hundred on Home Depot gift cards to experiment with

Figures. Wife started organizing the new cabinet and came to me and said “I need a shelf in the middle of the upper area behind the doors.

Uh, OK. Down into the basement I go to sort through old materials from previous projects. Found a board that will work, right thickness (a little thin, but close enough) but too deep and too wide. No problem...rip it to the right width and cut it to length. Sort through old spare hardware to find mounting brackets and screws. Just as I was about to install it, she says “It needs to be hidden behind the frame of the windows in the doors.”

Ummm, OK. Forget that I am installing frosted glass tomorrow and you will never see it...but I will center it if you go bring me a cold beer.

She did, and I did. I hope I am done with this project for tonight!

Where walls meet ceiling, a foot long 45 degree panel to keep r value up continous through the corner helps a great deal. Brother in law did some research, infra-red tests revealed that as a common poorly insulated area.

There might be just enough good weather tomorrow to burn some animal products on the pit before the next brief storm gets here. They're talkin' mountain passes getting all boogered up with snow again. Good opportunity to try that Moose Munch coffee and Skrewball Bourbon

I have been modifying my 5th wheel, took out unused outdoor kitchen, and bunk area. Installed stack able washer/dryer, and a new closet area. Mom loves it!
Got material to match from RV manufacturer.

I’ll look into it! Makes lots of sense
