Washington's Birthday has been celebrated as a general practice for a hell of long time.
That is what the origin of the 'President's day' holiday. First person in modern history to hand back power in the manner of Cincinati. Not just once, but twice. We seem to be one of the few country's today that most of the people don't see that as an amazing example.

Dont get your panties in a bunch.....not slamming George Washington or the USA....Today is not Washington's actual birthday...I mean made up holidays by the fact that only government employees normally get it off...Hell I'm surprised that some of them dont get St. Patrick's day off...lol
 
Morning everyone, oil field never sleeps, so I get to go to work. Coffe in the thermos and off to my truck.
 
Late breakfast this morning. Half Smokes, Bacon, and Scallops, Fresh Strawberries.... Need to get to the store, all out of Eggs.........

I couldn't get on yesterday, my eyes were killing me and my sight was too blurry to read... I couldn't hardly open the right eye... :BangHead:

Don't know where you live - lots of places have off - lots don't. Most banks are closed.
The only US Holidays that haven't been moved for convenience to a Mon or a Friday are July 4, Thankgiving, Dec 25 and New Years. But Washington's birthday can never be his real birthday because we use a different calender now. Even he marked it on different days. All depends on how one wants to interepret the calender change.
