So, getting a A500 trans, either a 44re or 44rh. Which is better to use, for ease of conversion. Using original floor shifter, AND do you need a lock up converter?
I am thinking the 44re can be shifted into overdrive using a stand alone switch, am I correct?

They have the plastic chrome base. The arm rest itself is interior color.
Like mine...

So a 44re is better, thanks....investigated...

Hey Tim, if you want to restore chromed plastic parts use Molotow liquid Chrome in an air brush. The stuff is amazing!

I’d heard of that product. At MCACN, in Chicago, I saw a vendor with a demo display. Looked great.

Thanks. At least I now know that is a possibilty on my car.
I'll look at mine again and dig out some photos from when I bought the car.
68 up the bases were either keyed to the interior color or chromed on the higher level interiors.
67 Barracuda I haven't seen specific info yet.

That is the part I am trying to figure out how to re chrome....
I'm sending my instrument panel to these guys.
Restoration | Vacuum Orna-Metal
I'll send them the glove box strip too. That way it looks the same all the way across.
If the arm rest bases are also supposed to be chromed, I'll include them too.
I don't know if they are at the same level of detail work as Gcar and Instrument specialties, but from the stuff I've seen posted here and moparts, its pretty darn good. Turn around and pricing I thought were reasonable for what has to be done.

You ever drive out to Az?
See how these look in real life.

This one has before and after for a rally dash.,

I don't know if '69 ralley panels were finished differently on the back, but glad I saw these photos.
'67 is plain finish with some strategic blackouts.
Frank at Vacuum Orna-metal said they could mask off the back. I just need to put a reminder in the box. Same thing with polishing the lenses. Mine look fine. Unless they see scratches, leave 'em as is. This is not a day one or even year one restoration. Showing a little age is OK with me. Point is they seem easy to work with.
