Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good afternoon folks, another question for the guru’s here n the Coffee Shop. I had read somewhere to use plumbers putty to seal the nuts on my hood scoops. The plumbers putty that I have says not to use on plastic. Will using it cause damage to the scoops, and if so is there a putty that is safe to use?

Aren’t your scoops made of cast metal?

That’s a great question, I had assumed they were plastic or glass. When I was sanding them to do a little touch up they looked to be fiberglass. Maybe they have been boogered with in the past and were repaired or something. I’ll take a good look when I get home.

Stop by the local body shop, they have body caulking. Its a putty they use for sealing body plugs and such. I have a tube of it myself. Or butyl tape. A little goes a long ways.

I believe you are getting a biased report on the Country from your neighbor. I still say you should check it out for yourself.....
lets say they would have a different perspective.
He has an aunt and uncle visiting there this spring. It's not like Iran where where your visit could easily become permanent. I get that. But they have bad guys too. Some work for the party.
Vietnam’s Human Trafficking Problem Is Too Big to Ignore

My 96 Dakota would do the same thing. Sometimes a hick up sometimes a stall. Sometimes it fired right up sometimes I would have to crank a bit. I checked the pressure on the spot when it acted up. either none or very low. I ordered a pump. It acted up a few days ago and I thought I would mess with the wiring under the hood. When I wiggled the front ecm harness on the pass. fender the engine would stall. I unplugged the harness's (3 ) from the ecm (after breaking the friggen clips off) plugged them back in a few times and it has been perfect since. No connectors backed out or corrosion.

Sounds like the Dakota a friend of mine drives. At first he secured the connectors with zip ties. That was successful so he made a more permanent retainer with 1"x1/8" strap and bolts. I only had to drag him across the valley once back to his work yard, before the fix that was

Matt , If you had a Wife and Kids, You would be Much Much safer in Viet Nam than you are in Phili. I mean Phili is a **** Hole........You wont have to put up with any of this crap you see going on in this country lately, or even in the past 5 decades........The Human trafficking is a problem worldwide, and certainly more of a problem here in America than it is in VN....

Well on a lighter subject. My new tenant signed a lease. He'll be here with his family on Aug 1. Guy is a Lt Col. in the Army, so I would think is a respectable guy....

I had heard about a bad ground on the drivers side as well. There is a power distribution box there?

What Branch is he?? Also just so you know the abbreviation for that rank is LTC. Gunner hopes there're kids to play with. :usflag:

so after spending the entire day, ripping apart the wife's durango to replace the part the dealer said was wrong with her climate control system, and putting it back together, which involves pulling both front seats, center console, dash and heater core... problem still isn't fixed. At least it saved me 2900 bucks.

Its an 07 with dual climate control. Passenger side and rear compartment AC both blowing nice and ice cold. Drivers side is stuck on heat. Dealer says its the upper blend control module, replaced it. I did check the door while I was in there and it spun freely and i double checked the alignment.

Underhood only i think. Ground may be in vicinity of fuel tank.
Yes, underhood drivers side. A pretty large harness where 3 or 4 wires are soldered together. Mopar didn't use a ground buss then.

Calibrated it?

I happen to live in a beautiful neighborhood, and yes of course it has problems too.
Bottom line is when push comes to shove I'll take my freedom over more safety. In fact, the way I see it, that's always the price.

Something unusual for this neighborhood an hour ago, especially this time of year. "Severe Thunderstorm Warning" from the NWS, on TV an cell phones. Complete with hail and 60 mph winds. The approximate location they gave for it is black as pitch.
Out in Los Padres National Forest area. Probably piss the bears, turkeys, rodents, and coyotes off, not much else out there.

Another lines of storms coming in now. Warning of 80 mph wind gusts and quarter sized hail.

Stand by....going to duck for a little bit.
