Stop in for a cup of coffee

That's exactly what my delivery guy said. JD made a couple of compromises to get to the market/price point of Kubota to compete in the small tractor market.

yep. In the late 90s, when kubota starting beating John Deere in that segment, John Deere turned and sub contracted a lot of that segment out. Like the engines and transmissions were at one point made in Germany, the frame and other metal work came from a foundry in Brazil. That was for everything south of 65-75 hp tractors. I’m not sure if that’s still the case but I imagine it is.

Well, I'm home from fishing with my Church Buddies. Didn't catch anything, but was nice to hang out and get a line wet again. Been a while. These guys are trying to organize an outing, maybe once a month. On the list is, Drag Strip, Gun shooting, Paint ball, baseball games, Etc. Should be Fun.....

I really need to level my dirt/grass. I've only got 122 hours on my JD rider and it already needs tie rod/front end steering components. I really don't slow down for bumps while mowing, not the mowers fault, just the operators! Between that mower, the lift and now the tractor I'm seriously considering a battery operated grease gun. Never owned one but have Makita, Milwaukee chargers/tools. Anyone used or own a battery powered grease gun?
I do not like the battery powered or air powered grease guns. I’ve had a dewault and one from McCormmick. Neither would prime easily. They both worked great but you’d spend an hr priming the dang thing, especially the air one.

As for John Deere lawn tractors, I’d buy them from Home Depot or Lowe’s , you’re actually getting the cheapest line they make. They’re not even really John Deere’s but Cub Cadets re-painted.

any of the L or D series, are essentially rebadged cub cadets. The only series actually made in a John Deere plant with John Deere designed parts is the commercial series

Yanmar makes the equipment larger that lawn and garden I believe.

I believe Yanmar is a diesel engine builder. My cousin sees a lot of them, since he is a marine mechanic. I have seen Yanmar engines in small to medium size Tractors....

Most all lawn and garden is made in Horicon Wisconsin.

My son is coming up from college for the night, (U of W so close). My wife is going nuts, misses all of our kids. I'm headed out to the fish market to get Dungeness crab and the misses is going to make some French bread to go with.

Why wouldn't you put car show information in the Events forum? Rant over. LOL

Dewalt. Its heavy. But has a long whip which helps. Im happy with it.

Cordless tools were a hot seller on the tool truck. Once you buy a tool with a good battery format (18 volts+ and Lithium of course) I sold tons of bare tools without a battery or charger. Sometimes I would buy kits on sale and split them up. Someone was always looking for a extra battery and a extra charger for home.

Cleaned carb, checked for spark. It had none. Cleaned points tested circuit and it had spark. shot of petrol in carb and a little coaxing and it fired off. From the crud and dirt in carb i would say 20 years since it last fired. Next i connect fuel pump and warm it up. Damn it’s ugly!

Thing even holds coolant. Maybe poured in 2 quarts. Poured some gas into tank, and ran the fuel pump. Flushed out some nasty stuff. Flows good. Just waiting for spilled gas to evaporate. Then run it again.

Late to the party, what are you working on today?

Found it on local buy and sell. And it runs, makes good oil pressure and hydraulics almost work. Main pressure line blew. Its old. Im going to replace all the hoses. Its a homebuilt loader, not sure on the hp, powertrain is from a skoda 445 car.

If you light a match, the gas evaporates faster.... :poke:

The 300 C started chirping it’s Horn every few minutes this morning so I went out to start it and the battery was low and it wouldn’t crank. Either it was an odd side effect or the car has the ability to call attention to low voltage.

I just haven’t been driving it enough to keep the system full charged. Put it on the slow charger for and hour and it started. Let it run for 40 minutes and checked the voltage. 12.71 volts. Let it sit 2 hours and checked again, 12.67 volts.

I’m going to put the slow charge back on it for a little bit just to make sure it’s fully charged....then I need to drive it more. I’ve only run 1/3 of a tank of fuel through it since the beginning of March.

I don’t know if it’s an intentional thing or not. I know that even way back when I was in business we had more than one Chrysler car do some crazy things when battery voltage dropped. Wipers turning on by themselves, horns going off and on erratically, lights flickering while parked not running.

I just discovered that the “illuminate on approach” setting on the car was reading my key fob and illuminating the dash lights when I was in the garage and it’s parked in the driveway outside the door.

I turned that crap off immediately. No wonder the battery was losing power, the damn dash was lighting up anytime I was in the garage...and I spend a lot of time out here!

The Wicked Andersons are tuning up. Music starts at 7 here at Fox Ridge Winery.
