You mention artichokes a lot... I have had them in dips and stuff, but honestly I don't even know what they taste like on their own and would have no clue what to do with them. LOL

Well, if they workin' California deer, it won't take long :lol: They're not much bigger than a good sized Labrador Retriever :lol:
 
My buddy Stefan is coming over around 10 to help clean my chimney. I'm sure I have mentioned him before...used to work for me at the cold storage. Great guy and only lives a few miles away. We do wingman for each other any time one of us needs a hand on a project.
Once I get that done I can get stove back together. Cleaned the pipes out yesterday. Got one new elbow for one the joint was loose. Boiled the catalyst in vinegar. Put a new gasket on side door. This little warm weather teaser ain't gonna last...
 
Up in the Sierras there is a Black Tail and Mule Deer hybrid that gets pretty sizable. Black Tails closer to the coast not so much.
Couple valleys east of here we have Elk and Prong Horn.

We are hunting stricktly bow/crossbow at the ranch. Something to do with it doesnt scare off the axis deer and everyone else shooting guns drives them to us.
 
There is a chunk of land not far from here, farmer kicked off a party of hunters that went there every year. They were careless and shot everything that moved.
My buddy came across a wounded 1 year old deer. Thats unacceptable.
So now my buddy is the only one with permission to hunt there.

A buddy of mine and I made a Colorado hunting trip long ago. We were used to seeing cattle and horses in brightly colored garments to try and keep the yahoos from LA from shooting them accidentally. In Colorado they PAINTED their livestock Safety Orange :lol::lol:.
