Stop in for a cup of coffee

Let me try to get the wife in gear I want to do a commissary run before they lock down the base again..

Good luck with that... My ex wife hated to be rushed out...

I didn't want to get out of bed today. Rain on the new roof. We didn't hear that with the tile unless it was hailing. LOL

What's that you say? I can't hear ya for all those frickin' airplanes!

My grandma lived 5 minutes from O'hare... One of the runways used to take off over her house...

My mom said that she lost some of her hearing from the jets taking off over their house being so close....

My grandma's stop was the second one on the L-train coming from O'hare...

So now every time it rains, it's gonna sound like two skeletons f*cking on a tin roof....
It has a very nice sound. We haven't had a frog strangler rain yet so I don't know how that will sound.

It can get kinda noisy round here. A pay for play Borate tanker contractor has an installation here. Been quiet so far this year with no brush fires in the immediate area. The DC 10 tanker flies in for cocktails at Pepper Garcia's at the airport on Fridays and stays the weekend .

When I was in Arkansas for my first job out of college, I lived one mile from an Air Force base... You could hear them taking off...

You knew what was taking off without looking, the C-130s just made noise, the B-52's shook the ground....

One day while I was mowing my lawn, I hear planes flying overhead and see a couple F-18's and F-14's... They were having an air show at the base that day..

My buddy Dwight in Detroit was in the Air Force and every time he heard a jet overhead would look to see what it was... He referred to the fighter jets as "hot rods"....

Speaking of living in a Love Shack and the B-52's. They even drove a Chrysler!

We have a couple ground shaking events in the next couple weeks. A Falcon and a Delta IV at Vandenberg AFB. The Falcon will be easy to see, the Delta, not so much. That launch complex is pretty remote.
