Good question, may sound stupid but I've been thinking a lot (for a long time now) about why are we on this earth, what do I want to accomplish etc.. Well although a good job and health insurance is nice, and we have a comfortable life. I dont feel like if I continue this route I will be fulfilled and happy with my life. I dont think Im here to eat, sleep, work, repeat, and then when I can finally retire, go out and enjoy it. I dont know how my health will be when I retire. Im healthy now and I want to make the most of this life while I have my health and the time. If things dont work out Im still young enough I can get decent employment if I need to return.

I like traveling and really enjoy seeing and being a part of others cultures, what better way to get to do that. If I need to make money, I can pick up odd jobs or help repair others boats. Mechanics and HVAC experience is in high demand, so I can pretty much charge what ever I would like to fix someones stuff on there boat. I dont plan on working at all and we are budgeting around $1400-2k per month to live off of. That should easily carry me well past the age of 55 (which is when I can start drawing my retirement)

Nice! But the ones i prefer are about 800-1000 feet long. supposed to be in the carribbean right now. Kim was a top performer at the bank, and usually a cruise winner. Had it worked this year,would have been 1 free cruise, one week home then a cruise we paid for almost 2 years ago. Maybe next year.

I was just talking with my wife how I miss cruises. Then she says remember when we are on those and you say you wish you could be on one of those sail boats next to the ship.. Now we get to spend as much time as we want at the island instead of 6-8 hours.

Thats why we started cruising when i was in my 40’s. As of the age of 60, the insurance makes it prohibitive. An older gentleman said do it while you have your health. Im good for a couple more then that’s it. Then we will just travel around canada.

My first kob out of college, I was sent to Arkansas to work in the company's manufacturing plant... There was an older engineer there named Stu that had been there forever and was three years away from retirement... He was a good guy, but kept to himself usually... He wouldn't volunteer any information to us, but if we asked him, he would tell us that they tried that years ago and it failed and this is why... He was kind of our mentor...

One day while I was there, he got pissed off at our current plant manager (president of the design headquarters nephew) and called the old plant manager from that plant that was now working at a joint venture plant in Kentucky to transfer there to complete his work and retire... I left the company a year later and one day ran into one of my coworkers at my new job and asked about Stu... The guy told me that Stu recently passed away... He was so close to retiring and never got to retire... I felt bad for him....

All those years of drinking and smoking caught up to him...
