I was just thinking about that when the conversation started....

Incorporate a place for an Igloo or Coleman 6 pack cooler to carry the supply of beer....


After about a 6 pack, the tractor should need a fill up of gas... Then you fill the tank and grab another six pack for the cooler and go for another round... Like a pit stop - gas, beer, and back to the race....

First mod I made to my JD 455, was to cut a hole in the top of the toolbox, on the fender, to fit a beer can With a huggie...:lol:

A 54 inch JD was $4800. The other brands weren't much cheaper. Big jump in price between the 48 and 54 inch deck.
I'm thinking with 2 acres plus what's the real difference and go with the smaller deck??

I have maybe half acre of actual mowing. Was a big difference going from a 42 to a 50. 'Garden tractor', not a zero turn. The zero could make a big difference in time it takes to mow.

If you plan your route carefully, a regular tractor may be able to keep up with a zero turn.... :steering:

:soapbox:Why do products that are supposed to make things easy and save time do just the opposite? I accidentally bought some 'lightweight' spackle paste that you are supposed to put on smooth and past right over. Well I did a few spots yesterday and they were anything but flat this morning when dry. And it did not dry in 30min like it said. Might be OK for little nail holes or something. Sanded and recoated like any other paste, but the stuff sucks to sand. What I actually wanted was the low dust stuff. Sands really easy, but makes just as much dust, but it drops immediately instead of going up in a cloud. Anyway, got another hour in it already this morning and finally ready to do some painting.

I mow between 2-3 acres, I recommend the 54", takes me two hours and I agree with Karl that it would be considerably longer with the 48". If you're considering JD try to get the endurance motor, it has a sleeve in the piston. I think I had to special order that model from Home Depot, 26hp I believe. I don't have a bagger, keep reading that they are just a pita, clog up and everything if all is not completely dry, dunno.
