Mining is definitely one of those jobs where you have to give it your full attention. Hazards around every corner.
For sure. I had a neighbour that was crushed when brakes failed on a scoop. He survived,he was pinned between 2 machines. Was a mess for a lot of years.

As much as we whined about the Feds inspecting us twice per year minimum, they really were looking out for us. Some things we thought were petty and harmless could still keep ya from going home to see the family at the end of shift.

They are pretty sticky in that mine. Safety is a big thing there.
That being said, part of it is under a lake. During some test hole drilling, they drilled up into the lake. It started draining. They bonded an open valve into the hole, then closed the valve. That portion of the mine has been backfilled since then.

Morning men, boys, and all others...

Same crap as usuall. No real rain today which is good. Get everything in order yet on your grandpas estate?
Not even close. I mean, he had 85 percent of it settled in his will. But it’s that remaining 15 percent that is the *** kicker. And I’m stressing over it more than I should be. The biggest thing is the farm itself is secured.

That's good he had a will. I dealt with two estates that did not have one, Man people we never even knew were related came out of the woodwork, what a fng mess. I bet his obituary would be a interesting read. Do one yet?
