Stop in for a cup of coffee

I screwed up. In a good way. Tomorrow’s work is done! Think i may gear up and start pulling fargo apart.

Probably goes under a bellhousing or starter bolt. Good chance it will cause a glitch while cranking. Sensors could see low voltage.
Whatever it is, it’s been off a long time. I did get another look and it’s green with yellow stripe, so ground for something. And that part of the harness is mostly ignition related. I will find a bolt to stick it under, but would like to know what it’s for. My Chiltons has all the chassis electrical, but not that. :BangHead: I can probably find online, just didn’t have time yet.

Dammit.
I just realized that I need to buy a new gas tank. I don't know why I thought the one I had was going to be fine, but the whole inside is black and rusty. I just put a little gas in it to check for leaks after a friend and I welded up the little pinhole that was in it. Not only did it not pass the test, but the gas came out of it BLACK.

Why are you welding a gas tank... It could explode...

I can see why people get in trouble with wiring. I am pretty sharp when it comes to wiring, IMO, and I am having to mark what is what, or I find myself wondering??? And having to re verify where one goes...:BangHead:

Na, your fine. Just getting old is all.:poke:

You can wire mine for me... there will be beer

Getting to the wiring for the Gear Vendor Overdrive. More wiring. Lots more. And you have to keep the controller "far away" from the MSD/ MSD type, ignition unit. So that rules out near the drivers side. So mounted the controller behind the passenger side kick panel. Not a convenient place for it...but will work.....

I bet the previous owner of my car has all of you beat drunk.
the fool looped the wire at both ends and there you go....connector.
I went on a service call to look at a wiring issue on a pontoon boat at a marina. Owner’s “ mechanic” rewired a customer’s boat. I’m suprised that dipshit can tie his own shoes.
Wired b+ to one side of switch, and b- to other side. Then series off switch terminals to the accessories, lights, horn, livewell pump...

there was fricking smoked wires everywhere. No worries, business owner is an idiot too.
I cant believe people actually brought their stuff there to get fixed.

That place kind of sounds like the place where my parents took our 460 powered jet boat and wouldn't you know it, the poor thing had asthma after they "fixed" it.
they put a little *650cfm carburetor on it. Took it to another reputable shop and they actually fixed it with a 850 double pumper.

In my expedience, boats are the worse when it come to wiring. And RV's No one give a crap what the are doing....Always a freakin mess. No matter the cost of the unit.....

The poor thing used to buzz up to 5500, and after it got leaned out so much from that tiny carb, it completely ruined that engine. it struggles to rev past 4500 now. :(
*my dad just reminded me, the crappy shop charged for an 850.

It twas empty and had been sitting in a shop for a week with no plugs in it.
I am not that stupid

You should have at least rinsed it good with water and filled it some with water before welding...

It's not the liquid gas that causes the explosion, it's the vapors...

I watched a house burn down 40 years ago because the guy was welding too close to his gas tank and it started a fire.... The whole house was a total loss... He lived in an unincorporated part of the city where they had no fire hydrants and the tanker fire trucks had to fill up from other areas of the city with hydrants to fight the fire... Needless to say, the fire had a 45 minute head start before the fire department could start spraying water on it...

Whenever a house in that neighborhood caught fire, the neighbors dig out their lawn chairs and watched them burn... There was nothing they could do to help...

The guy we so upset with himself for not thinking before he welded the near the tank, he said that he should have known better.... A 30 year old man was in tears watching his house burn down, regretting what he was going to tell his parents when they came home from out of town... :(

You were lucky...

Another boat, needs total rewiring, jackas wired a stereo to one battery, and the amp to the other. Then proceeded to improperly install a battery isolator. When that didnt work he added a cutoff switch for one battery. It is such a a confusing mess! And its a big boat in a frickin trailer. Going to turn it away this year.

Ok, so I did everything correct. sorry about the lack of context, but I know all too well than to mess with gas. I nearly burned down my house because I was trying to figure out a backfire on a lawnmower and if that ***** did not send the biggest goddamn fireball I've ever seen.
