Stop in for a cup of coffee

Customer was in shop with his truck, complaining about sap on hood, nothing takes it off.
I grab a spray bottle, and s couple spritzes and wait a minute. Soft cloth and wipe off the sap. He was shocked!

Todays project. (first one anyway). Doesn’t show as well in pic, but my condenser is very bright and very exposed. Don’t know what they were thinking, not guarding/hiding it better. So I got some black aluminum diamond screen I am going to try to get inside there. Think I can remove bottom plastic and get it through from underneath…

What happened to the side of the bed ....?
It is a long story.... In Feb 2019 my oldest son used it for a day or two to move some furniture. But he had it for a week. Coming home from a shooting pool night, he drove it into the woods (drinking Im sure) . I was in VN at the time. WTF??? Anyhoo, I bought it back from the cheap *** Ins co. for $500, and repaired the suspension, so I can still drive it. It's all mashed up on the right side, and both fenders are bent into the doors, cab has dropped on left side from body/mount failure. Still use it to go to the lumber store or local dump, but probably never another long trip tp Carlisle.....

Are you planning to fix the body work?

That's too nice a truck not to fix.

Here's the aftermarket pieces a lot of people are using. I think it's too much of the same thing. And they don't make a full piece. Only for sides of plate.

I prefer your solution. The little black verticals are just enough contrast
It doesn't need more

Looks like the stylist passed out on his keyboard face first :realcrazy:

I think the screw up was the condenser was probably supposed to be black. That would have solved it appearance wise. I looked at a lot of vehicles before I came to this idea. Nearly all put some crappy little visuals in front and black out the guts. BUT don't protect the condenser at all!

I must have looked at the first photo before I finished my coffee. I thought the condenser was already blacked out :BangHead:.
It was just hiding in the shade.

Nope, nice shiny silver. :BangHead: Tough to catch it in a pic, but when sun hit it on the right angle it looked terribly exposed. I saw it at the dealership before I bought it and asked if it was missing something. Figured on doing something right then, just took me a month to come up with this.

Fixed replaced hood struts. Thru the wheel well. Just had to remove inner fender.... Score. Imo.

Now saw hot exhaust from left side header blasting on wiring to GV. All melted. Crap...
Repair and put some kind of temp shield there so I can drive to exhaust shop....

Just back from dinner. Went to a place about 15 miles away. A portion of it was gravel, and was in pretty good condition considering the dry weather . then an old backroad, unmaintained was better then the well travelled roads. Ended up cruising around for a couple hours.
