What happened to the rim?Chilly and raining up here on the frozen tundra. Fall is in the air for sure. Got my broken rim back, looks like I will be doing some aluminum repair welding! I will turn it into a spare. Hemi is loving the cooler weather, she is getting quite frisky. Maybe I should put Jodi outside for a bit?
and a little more Bourbon, and a little more Bourbon.@memike I'll have to try a little bourbon later and see if it helps.
This is my hypothesis, car had been driving fine. Took it to automated car wash, noticed the drag mechanism looked very low but thought to myself attendant will tell me if I am to low. Drove up on it and near as I can figure weight of car rested on front brake caliper. Very short drive home. Driving to work next morning I hear a thump thump so I apply brakes to investigate. Front wheel locks up and car dives. I throw it in reverse to unlock wheel crawl underneath and all looks good? I continue on to work using tranny for braking (6speed manual). Once I get in parking lot I use brakes and wheel locks up hard. And tire is now flat. Upon inspection the bolt holding caliper sheared and dropped caliper into rim, twisted caliper bracket and left rub pattern around inside of rim and a ding and crack. I will post a pix tonight. It is aluminum so I will just weld it up. The destroyed bracket is 8 weeks out from Wilwood so I just straightened out said bracket. I will run it that way until I get the new one. A bad day all in all. What happened to the rim?
Good morning all

yeah there are a lot of people now compared to when my dad moved up here 25 years ago. He said it was basically open desert. not anymore.Made an unplanned cruise through your part of the world Tuesday. Been a long time since I've been over Cajon Pass. Shocked at how much that area has grown.

I always wanted to go out there and watch but I always have school or some other thing i have to do.I was hunting for El Mirage Dry Lake. I got close but missed it . Going to try and make one or both SCTA events in the next coming months. Next time I'll write down the directions . 150 mph on dirt might be fun to watch.
OOOOHH.. that could be my birthday present to me.... only three days away9/12 and 10/24 from just looking at my calendar they have fun scheduled, SCTA website would have more info.
