Had a roofer book work with me.
Day of his appointment, it poured. Perfect, he wont miss a day being without his truck. Effer doesent show up. Calls a couple days later, needs to get in right away, because truck is now in limp mode. 3 weeks. I will look at it. He flips out, i tell him to go **** himself as he had his chance. He never actually made it as a customer, i fired him.

i was going somewhere with this…
Contractors are notorious for “dropping the ball”

I do have sympathy for contractors. My dad was a custom home builder. It's more about saying what you mean and meaning what you say

Yes, I was in the Auto Parts Business for almost 30 years, as an owner. Yes, It is always about being respectable, reliable and competent...

I have one contractor customer. Steady missing appointments. Hes the son of a good friend, my machinist buddy. Sonny got a tune up last time he left me hangin.

Damn, Went to weld up this hole in an exhaust system, and I gots no gas left. Bet my Son used it in my absence..

Buddy’s former co-workers are throwing a retirement party for him. None of the managers, councillors are invited. Should be interesting, as he didnt want a retirement party.

Had a guy use a small one to power the dump trailer he used to deliver a load.

Well, things are going a little better today, got rid of that quarter panel, didn't get paid for scrap, just took it to the base recycling and that's free. Got ahold of tree guy, he finished on the base the 3rd and will be out Sunday morning for estimate. I'm giving him $350 I owed him from his last work, he never would come out to get paid, life must be good for him! Lastly, the turntable is coming along, guy is sending me a video for head shell leveling, I guess it's a bit of a procedure but I think I can do it.

I learned a long time ago to check the connection at the regulator, soapy water. I can almost guarantee every bottle leaked at the reg. Because, it has to be damn tight to not bubble. Damn tight.

So if you is welding for an hour or so, and its leaking, would you not want to know? Thats the point. Free welding gas.

Last place I worked, I got a new welder. I was the only one that used it and I was sure it was tuned off when not using. 1st tank went WAY too fast. Turned out the cyl fitting had a nick in. They gave me a free replacement and it lasted months…
